Tommy outselling Tyson in UK PPVs. That did a lot more than the Whyte and Chisora fights.

Says a lot about the current boxing climate

Fury Chisora III did 500,000 buys apparently. Brook Khan did 600,000 and Usyk Joshua II did 1,250,000. The prices were different though.

Remember though that Whyte and Chisora weren't really seen as competitive opponents. If Fury fought Wilder next in the UK I think that would do more than Paul Fury even if it's their 4th fight.

Sorry but Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte did over 800,000 PPV buys.

I’m not having a dog at Tyson. I’m shaking my head at the sport and the lay of the land.

Fights like these now doing numbers akin to HW champs.

The sport has gone mad. If AJ Franklin was on Sky PPV I doubt it does as much as this fight

There is unlimited rinsing to be done with this new breed of Box Office customers.

Astrid Wett types in the ring get the inches twitching for some and they sign up for anything.

If Tommy-Jake really did 750K buys this has a wide meaning, very unpleasant to those who measure their fighters by the number of PPVs sold. Speaks bad for boxing in general.

They did serious numbers, you have to congratulate them BOTH, they BOTH played their parts and hopefully earned a lorry load of money.

Look, I'm not really a fan of this YouTube/celebrity boxing, the quality in most of these bouts is very very poor and it's not a good look.

I hope I'm wrong but I think eventually somebody will get seriously hurt or even killed and then it will somehow land in boxings lap.

Anyway, back to the numbers, again I have more complaints/concerns, the more things like this "work" and do big numbers and generate big money the more professional boxing will take note and young fighters will be more concerned with fame, celebrity, digital hits, their profile and brand than learning their trade and we are seeing more and more of this type of behaviour and fighters being signed more on their potential PPV and ticket sales than a long term view of their potential.

I know this already happens to an extent, I'm not naive, that's why the sons of former British boxing legends are signed and wrapped in cotton wool because they have ticket and PPV sales written all over them.

But there needs to be a separation between this type of thing and professional boxing, call it semi professional or something but the WBC and others shouldn't be indulging these people and throwing around rankings and making belts and professional fighters shouldn't be calling out youtubers for "fights" or exhibitions.

But after my whining and complaining you once again I congratulate them both for selling their fight and making a lot of money in this current financial climate.

Everything they sold is fair, can't tell anything against that. But here comes the sad part: if I am popular for whatever reason, why would I in general try to be top fighter, if I know I am not given that, instead of making money because of my popularity? Let top-athlete fools damage their health for less money, I don't intend to leave sport legacy, while I make more money than those who do.

By the way, if we've a death case for someone like Paul, it'll be a tragedy for his family and friends only. I am saying it in a mild manner.

This is worldwide numbers isn't it?

Be good to see what the breakdown was between US and UK.

Yet a 4th fight would be seen at competitive?

The 1st and 3rd were competitive with Wilder knocking down Fury several times. There is always the possibility Wilder wins every time they fight.
