Bad stoppage? Corrales was spitting his mouthpiece out and was badly hurt, yet Castillo is not given a chance to fight back?

He got his revenge in the rematch though.

Dude that was a great stoppage by weeks.
You wanted Castillo to end up like Morisson vs Mercer?

Perfect ending to one of the best fights of the last 20 years.

Exactly. He was defenseless on the ropes, getting pummeled. He didn’t take a knee, and there’s no standing 8 count, so the ref has to stop it.

Corrales was on the brink but was able to fight back and just about to defend himself. Spitting out the gumshield intentionally or not to give himself time.

Castillo was done on them ropes unable to defend himself. Ropes holding him up. Don't forget both were exhausted and both had been hurt pretty badly multiple times in the fight.

No, he was out on his feet, defenceless and his head was beggining to get rag dolled. Weeks had no choice but to stop it.

    Exactly!!!
Great stoppage but it should never have got to that point.
Spitting your mouthpiece out should stop the fight. Just like turning your back, you don’t want to fight anymore…

I think jlc was obviously concussed with his hands down, but he was still game for bigger shots getting thrown at that direction. I believe Corrales coach said you better get inside the mfer now lol. Good ol'Goossen, who doesn't look like a boxing trainer but is one.

Who knows! Maybe jlc Castillo recovers and gets his hands up or he gets pummeled mercilessly while stuck in a haze. It's a good thing weeks didn't wait for that to find out .

As for me I’ve had many scrapes my claim to fame is taking a good punch I’ll never quit. And yup I’m a soon to be 52 yo kid.

It was a good stoppage. Castillo was defenseless.
But the right thing to do would have been to give Castillo a standing 8 instead of stopping it to make up for the BS mouthguard spitting. I'm not saying Weeks really should have done this as it's non-standard, but it would have been fair.
