It looks like I'm talking to a guy who values ego over understanding.

    Tony had low IGF1.

If one has low IGF1 and testosterone, is it more reasonable for one to ascribe that to pituitary atrophy or steroid abuse? You can get back to me once you've figured out how that works.

It’s cute how you started using emojis because I said something too complicated for you.

It's even cuter how you ignore pertinent points and slide sideways trying to complicate things when there's just no need.

Toney's surgeon didn't prescribe nandrolone nor did he prescribe pregnenolone.
    Tony tested positive to nandrolone.
    Tony first denied taking anything.
Goosen claimed he took pregnenolone among other things and it likely morphed into a positive nandrolone test.

That's enough for me. you go off on your tangents and i'll just stick to Tony tested positive to steroids that weren't prescribed by his surgeon for his arm.

First things first. If you can tell me how steroid abuse leads to low T AND growth hormone instead of pituitary atrophy, I’ll talk about these other things. But you’re ducking and dodging.

Avoiding this one still? Toney's surgeon didn't prescribe steroids nor pregnenolone. You stated steroids were prescribed to him and hence why he was positive.

Give it up already. The games long over.

You’ve pretty much confirmed yourself to be a laymen in terms of understanding hormones, so I’ll educate you for a moment.

The pituitary produces upstream hormones, some of which act on the testicles, including growth hormone. The testicles produce testosterone, which is a downstream hormone.

If you take too much testosterone over too long of a period, the testicles will atrophy because they no longer need to produce much testosterone. If you stop taking the testosterone, the pituitary will respond by producing high levels of upstream hormones in an attempt to kick start the testicles. You would not expect low growth hormone.

If you have traumatic pituitary atrophy, you will produce lower levels of upstream hormones such as growth hormone, and have lower levels of testosterone because there are low levels of pituitary hormones available to get the testicles working.

I showed you bloodwork showing that Toney had low growth hormone when you asked for proof of pituitary atrophy. You hemmed and hawed around this which suggests you don’t know what that means. I asked for an apology so we could move on.

You can now apologize to me and I might address your other claims.

that is correct. he tested positive because of medication prescribed by Dr for injury. Anyway, your point is kind of a mute one because Toney was not even in shape for Ruiz. Had he been in shape he would have dominated even more.everybody knows Toney do not need drugs to defeat Ruiz. It was the skills

Toney's surgeon didn't prescribe any steroids. Toney was seldom in shape and most certainly wasn't if he happened to lose it seems.

At any rate Toney got busted and lost the W.

He was in shape against Holyfied. he was not against Ruiz and still won. Declared to a non contest because of medication prescribed by Dr

Dr Who? The guy that did the surgeries and prescribed his post surgery medication is on record he did not prescribe steroids nor pregnenolone. He's also on record saying he wasn't surprised Toney tested positive to steroids.

you are basically talking about things you have no understanding of. the Dr's statement (last sentence) confirms what I wrote.

The Doctor said he wasn't surprised he tested positive because of Toney's recent weight gains and build. He's literally saying he believes he was on steroids so i have no idea how that confirms what you are trying to imply. The Doc did not cause him to test positive.

It's relatively close, but Toney for me.

Trinidad went on a great little tear 1999-2001, but I still prefer Toney's of 1991-1994, even allowing for the rank injustice of the Tiberi verdict. Trinidad was very consistent and you could argue he had fewer low moments than Toney as a result, but I think Toney's high moments were better and he proved himself against a superior quality and more varied list of opponents overall.

Trinidad has those two big, defining wins against De La Hoya and Vargas.....But we all know he didn't really win one of them. Meanwhile Toney was upsetting the odds to beat prime, unbeaten champions (and being named Ring Fighter of the Year into the bargain) in the shape of Nunn and Jirov a full twelve years apart, and still able to hang with Heavyweights and lose very dubious verdicts to them despite being in his late thirties and sporting an extra tyre around his waist. Trinidad, on the other hand, never recovered or achieved anything of note after having his bubble so comprehensively burst by Hopkins.

I am a big Toney fan, less so Tito though....So how knows, maybe my bias is getting the better of me?
