I've always thought, give the ref a thumbs up with 1 hand and tap with the other.
He sees the thumbs up, the opponent feels the tap.
You might get your opponent to release and just carry on like nothing happened.
Most don't release till the ref forces them to tho, which is the correct thing to do.

Also, pre-fight analysis of Bones vs Gane. Im giving Gane 0% chance to win, he does nothing better than Jones. Lets see if Cyril proves me wrong. Any last minute picks for the main event? I call it Jon Jones by Submission

Jones has looked pretty unimpressive lately. I thought Santos beat him with injured legs. Maybe Reyes too (don't remember exactly).

I just think it´s so hard to predict this.
Jon hasn´t fought in years. He is moving up in weight. And he looked bad in his last 2 fights. And Santos, who arguably beat Jones, fights in a similar manner to Gane.

But, taking all of those things into consideration, I´d say it´s going to be a good fight.

That's a bit harsh on Gane. Gane is the bigger man who has been active. Jones struggled in his last fight and he's been inactive.

Maybe when you compare prime for prime on a P4P basis, Gane doesn't have a chance. When you consider the circumstances, he very much has a chance.

I felt he lost to Reyes quite clearly, Gane just seems too green for this level

Good points, hopefully it matches up even and we end up with a great fight

Gane could dominate this if he can stop the takedowns.

Jones looks soft in the middle.

We have to think he may be over the hill. He's going to be a bit slower with the weight gain.

Possible, but I can see Jones stopping Gane coming in range with his nasty oblique kicks. Take the tape off your toes Jon
