Yeah, I also reckon he’d have a mate that resembles Jonah Hill or someone similar - only for the purpose of making himself look even better. The DUFF. :meparto:

I remember when I was like you last year the new guy on the block here, testing the waters against the veteran posters. I'm also fairly young for the classic forum being 23.

At first I mostly just stuck to the scorecard thread here, as I was bit worried about making myself look silly in debates with older gentlemen here. But I'm alot more self assure now and I recognize who the good posters are here.

I mostly get on with everyone here without trying to be an ass kisser, I'm just naturally good natured person that doesn't really like arguing or bad vibes. And the posters in classic forum are a good bunch for the most part.

But overall enough rambling from me enjoy your stay here, and hopefully we can share some boxing views in the future.

    You're a good poster DP.

Your knowledge of boxing history vastly surpasses my own when I was 23 and in some areas still exceeds mine today. Good on you for having the confidence to hold your own in debates, whilst remaining respectful.

I take back everything I've said. You've both lost your spots.

Will create a poll to decide your replacements.

I recently rewatched Foreman-Young and was surprised at what I saw: Foreman winning. In 1977 I was 13, and if Big Mouth Cosell said Young was winning, I believed him. But seeing it again I realized that Young didn’t dominate anything. He was his usual passive self, pecking and spoiling, and was lucky enough to knock a stumbling, exhausted George down in the final round. Foreman landed a lot of body shots and had Jimmy retreating in fear the whole night.

Foreman was better at cutting off the ring than Vitali was at controlling distance.

You were surprised? You posted the same thing literally five years ago
That being said, I agree. I thought the fight was very close, despite Foreman not being his usual self.

Heirs apparent? I knew it!! :monoloco:

All to do with the “New Kid in Town”, @Spreadeagle I bet, “The Eagle + s” = ….., get it?, god, I kill me.

So we’re getting booted out of The Firm just like poor Harry and Andrew for barely stepping out of line?

We will stand united in inebriation but one of us has taken the news a bit worse than the other. :borra2:

I love you man but do you own a rabbit? Because I’m now gonna have to boil it and server it up to you. :smilie-devil:

My first impulse is to pick Foreman. If forced to make a pick, I'd still go with George but I don't say this with any degree of confidence. Foreman's power gives him a real chance against anybody. But the stamina issues of a young Foreman could spell trouble for him against a durable, capable and tough opponent that Vitali would be. This would be a rare situation in which Foreman would be the smaller man in the contest. Both have great chins and both are unbelievably strong. Both made successful comebacks late in their careers after extended absences from the ring. Physically they match up well against one another, and the stamina issue would not have been a problem for Old George. I would not be surprised if an injury determined the outcome, as in the cut in Vitali's loss to Lennox Lewis, and the shoulder injury in his loss to Chris Byrd, even though Vitali was ahead in the scoring in both fights at the time of stoppage. A most interesting matchup with all the potential excitement of Foreman-Lyle.
