How much did Andrew Golota redeem himself in his 2000s comeback

His grit in the one eyed win vs Mollo was outstanding at times.

I remember Lampley and Steward expecting him to get laid out early but gave him the proper kudos later on.

 

Yeah, HBO showed his fights quite a lot but the announcing team dogged him incessantly later on.

 

Here's what I learned from the HBO team; he was a Polak who grew up poor around violence, he likes things the same: same gym, same people around him, no surprises, his wife, pint sized, had the pants on in the relationship despite their size disparity and that he was a heavyweight prizefighter by trade, as well as a penchant to have ptsd, which would explain his jumpy nerves. Not knocking him, just writing what I've heard lol.

I believe he garnered some fame from the bowe fights... Question: where were you during the riot (part 2)?

I was on vacation at Disneyland in Florida as a kid. It was a very interesting show that day on HBO. I remember Lampley getting frightened about his teenage daughter who was in or near the melee ringside. Golota was on those late night tv shows, they kinda exploited riddicks pain for whatever it's worth.

 

Fun fact:

After the Olympics he dusted a guy in a bar in Poland and to escape prosecutuon he left Poland for Chicago.
Not for boxing though-he was a truck driver initially in the US.
