I'm wondering if he just all of a sudden came out and said he is officially done with boxing.

    How would you view him?

Im torn on the issue....60% of me says he is a fanny and 40% says he could have been a richer fanny.

Whatever he does i wont lose any sleep over it. U can guarantee he will do a few of these 'exhibitions' bouts with the WWE style razzamatazz

    Didn't he already do that?

Wasn't that the justification for giving Usyk the Ring belt to begin with?

If Tyson Fury came out and said he was officially done, he'd just say 24 hours later he was "back" (which is what he did last time).

People complain about Fury's waffling and how he "never fights" and all that.

But Fury just fought three months ago. :)

Usyk couldn't fight last December when Fury wanted to fight. Usyk said he couldn't fight this month (because of his religion).

Usyk has fought once a year since he moved to heavyweight.

In fact, since Usyk beat Joshua the first time, Tyson Fury has fought three times to Usyk's one.

And Fury will probably end up fighting someone in April in the UK, which means Fury will have fought four times to Usyk's one.

So people seriously need to cool it with this Fury bashing.

Everyone wants to see a unified title, but it ISN'T happening in the UK unless fans there are willing to pay the same for PPVs that fans in the US pay.

If this fight is so huge and it needs to happen in the UK, then pay $95 for the PPV (like we do).

Otherwise, there won't be enough money in the pot. And Fury can make as much or more on his end just giving some contender a shot and taking an 90-10 purse split.

    Retires to avoid Wlad rematch...

    Retires to avoid Usyk ...

Starting to see a pattern here.

Usyk beat Joshua for his belts in September 2021. Since then, Fury has fought Wilder, Whyte, Chisora and Fury will be fighting someone in April ... while Usyk has only had the rematch with Joshua.

NO ... Fury isn't interested in making less for the Usyk fight than he made for the Whyte and Chisora fights.

He got an 85 to 90 percent cut of the purse and a huge part of the live gate money for those.

With the current PPV prices in the UK, only one boxer can make huge money in a fight. If both want huge money, you'd better charge close to double for the PPV and hope that the number of people who buy the PPV increases as well.

And UK fans won't pay it.

That's why Fury and everyone was in Saudi recently to try to beg for money for the bout to happen there. Because one guy in Saudi can write a check. But getting British fans to pony up for a $90 to $95 PPV will be more than difficult.

So Fury will likely charge the normal PPV rate and will probably fight some contender in April, instead, because he'll make far more money doing that than splitting a PPV with Usyk at the normal UK PPV price.

The problem isn't Fury or Usyk. The problem is UK fans want the biggest fights there, but they don't want to pay the big prices that secure them.

THIS! I have held some anger towards Fury over the years for avoiding the Wlad rematch but still gave him some respect for what he’s done. But if he actually doesn’t agree to ****ing 60/40 in HIS favor… that’s about as blatant a duck as there has ever been.

In all honesty it should really be 50/50 or at the most 55/45 in his favor if he really has to be that petty. But this is the HW unification fight that ALL real boxing fans want to see. If Fury swerves this… people shouldn’t watch his fights anymore. That simple

I'd probably lose a little if he genuinely retired without facing Usyk.

I'd lose a lot if he 'retired', announced another 'comeback' and then fought a load of patsies or freak show crossover fights against the likes of Ngannou, without facing Usyk but still finding the time to talk smack about him.

Sadly, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the second option is his preferred one.
