Looking at the top 10 P4P, only one boxer even has a fight on the calendar, Stevenson on April 8th.

How can a sport grow or at least maintain their fan base when the top boxers fight so infrequently?

It cant, best not fighting the best and boxers being inactive is why it sucks currently. The only guy that is active is Canelo.

I don’t have a problem with the frequency of fights, more the avoidance of fighting certain opponents. It is severely hindering boxing as it just does not happen in most other sports- they have to play each other. I would love to see more tournaments like the super 6. Boxing in a tournament format is a much better wet dream than Jake Paul will ever have.

I personally believe boxing is currently undergoing a transformative state where fight purses are gradually shrinking (for a whole host of reasons) and as a result elite fighters are fighting less. Of course this complex web of promotions, networks and sanctioning bodies doesn't help either. As a result the current crop of divas, who grew up watching and fighting and making waves during the Floyd era, don't have the same activity guys had 10 years ago. At the same time I'm pretty hopeful that the sport can hard-reset itself in 10 years time. Either the sport changes or it dies, and I don't see it dying at a grassroots level as it's still globally enormous, and eventually the highest level will begin to reflect this in turn

I've been watching boxing since Lewis-Tyson and had an on-off relationship with Floyd and Wlad, but began seriously following the sport in 2018. It blew my fooking mind when I read that Loma earned several million for the Luke Campbell fight. It just felt completely ridiculous to me

Also that P4P list is horrible

I know my interest is gone. I've gone from buying a PPV every single weekend for years...to now not being bothered unless its either Fury or Usyk
