I watched an interview on one of the YouTube channels with Ben Shalom explaining how they had reshuffled the plans are were about to announce a schedule of fights for April / May / June. He didn't add any names or dates. Any ideas who we can expect to see?
I see Wood is going for a quick rematch against Lara. Personally I'm rooting for Lara and hope he runs back to Mexico with his belt, locking Warrington out of an undeserved title shot... Sadly I think he'll get one whoever wins. "BUT HE SPAT ON ME EDDIE"
Boxxer’s output so far this year, outside of PPV, has been appalling. Their Manchester card in a couple of weeks is their worst yet…
Frazer Clarke has been moved terribly compared to other olympians like Yafai and Cheavon Clarke. On the same day as their Manchester card is a BT card in Telford which is also appalling.
I agree, and its disappointing to be honest as I thought considering they were starting from scratch just over a year ago they were improving towards the end of 22. Let's hope there is some Big fights to be announced
They lucked out with securing Khan Brook on PPV and then Top Rank having Taylor fight Catterall over here. They’re now going to lose Catterall for a bit while he goes to fight Prograis in the U.S. They signed Parker who then got done by Joyce on BT, and came back and looked flat against a cruiser moving up in Massey. I think Parker’s assumed a sparring partner role nowadays… They’ve done their nuts on a few Olympians as well but is anyone interested in them? Suppose Whittaker has been injured, he could be a face in the next few years. The Smith Eubank rematch clashing with Taylor Cameron is a strange move as well…
Matchroom has not had a particularly impressive start to 2023 and last night's boxing event is quickly forgotten. Now I have seen the whole event and it is not one that will go down in history.
It is better than what Boxxer have served though. Queensberry have probably done slightly better considering they’ll have Usyk Fury over the line on April 29. However, I am hearing that Matchroom have a very strong lineup from May-July.
