    Round 1

The young Australian southpaw prospect walking the orthodox Cuban veteran down with a busy right jab off the hip. Aokuso changing defensive looks on the way in, alternating between a peekaboo and left hand carried low. González not really giving him much to worry about in terms of return fire, just back-stepping and playing a little patty-cake with his left jab, intercepting Aokuso's right where he can. Occasional overhand rights by González but when he does deign to throw them Aokuso counters with straight lefts down the pipe and quickly discourages him for a while.

    10-9 Aokuso

Didn't Tim get knocked down against Wade Ryan? It was hard to pick that he'd be this good early on.

And now we trade places. It's a pity that you don't seem to process that boxing is all about styles, Tim's is a NIGHTMARE for Tony's.

Ridiculous. The broadcast on Showtime began, as scheduled about five minutes ago - coinciding exactly with the opening bell of Aokuso vs. González ...but instead of showing the co-feature in full as they could, they're just going to have the studio talking heads kill time until this one is over?? :shakehead:

"Sweet P" is listed on BoxRec as having only a ½″ advantage in height over "The Monster", but that is bologna. Granted the Cuban is using a lean-over slouching posture but even standing up fully straight he is a solid couple of inches shorter.

    Round 2

González is following Aokuso, jabbing up into the right lead wrist and looking to plug him with a right cross downstairs. Aokuso maintaining control of distance, always in position to smack González's left jab down and have plenty of room to reset his feet and counter with a southpaw jab. Lots of waltzing, little punching. González comes alive late with a rushing flurry but nothing lands.

    10-9 Aokuso, close

    20-18 Aokuso

    Round 3

González is starting to get pieced up now as he continues walking straight in the front door as he was getting away with doing in the previous round (not that he was having much success, just not getting punished with aught beyond some jabs). Aokuso now opening up with a step-in 1-2 meeting González halfway and finishing off with right hook receipts on the way out again. Aokuso very silky in there, using movement and better punching instincts and placement to easily outscore González. Cuban becoming gunshy as his every jab is met with a three or four punch combo. Wild looping haymakers by González easily ducked or nimbly sidestepped and dodged by Aokuso.

    10-9 Aokuso

    30-27 Aokuso
