Because Charlo is bang on average. Nothing rear about him, but he’s a contender. Just like Harrison.

Timmy is yet to prove whether he is special, but he showed tonight that Harrison’s level is not anything of a threat. Will Charlo still be the same fighter he was against Harrison? We will find out!

It makes for an interesting match up, for sure.
One thing is for sure, if Tim had any reservations or questions of his rank against Charlo, this validated his chance to beat Charlo.

He beat Harrison without any question marks and did it with relative ease. Something you cannot say Charlo did.

Tszyu only lost, what was, a well invested feel out first round - and it was obvious in real time that it was Tim’s intention to observe and calibrate himself in those first three minutes.

He looked to make every punch count - which they did, on both the scorecards and in the incremental breakdown of Harris.

It might’ve seemed that his defence was a bit lacking - but really, what Harrison did land didn’t seem to concern him too much at all - so there was a measure of impunity involved there.

It also might’ve seemed that Tim’s output could’ve been a bit higher at times - but the strategy was all about patience and perfect meter.

If Tim had thrown more it no doubt would’ve supplemented and combined with the effectiveness of his substantive defence - but again, what Harrison did land didn’t concern him too much.

As to what Tim shouldn’t do against Charlo or what he should expect from Charlo that Harrison himself didn’t deliver - he wasn’t fighting Charlo - he was fighting Harrison on this occasion - and, imo, he did a damn fine job of assessing and methodically beating the man before him.

Ultimately, it was really quite a heavy duty beat down - Harrison wasn’t looking too healthy at all, several rounds before the TKO.

When Harrison was hanging on the ropes in rd 9, ala Schmeling vs Louis, that ref should’ve immediately stepped in for an 8 count or, most ideally, stopped the fight then and there - it was clear Harrison had nothing left. -

Interesting that rd 9 was the exact point that Tim predicted that he would put the pedal to the metal.

All credit to Harrison for a gusty performance and classy words post fight.

Tim’s post fight, expletive ridden rant was a bit overdone imo.

Playing it as if it was like Ali being called Clay by Terrell. Let’s hope he doesn’t call his next opponent the Rabbit or the Washer Woman. Lol.

No biggie but he could’ve left it out maybe - and, we already did our time with Anthony The Man Mundine, the poor man’s version of Ali in respect of rants - no repeats thanks.

Did you see Kostas Dad, Tim’s grandfather or pop? The man has aged well.

 

Like others have said, his post fight carry ons both him and his foul mouthed GF go on with are cringe. Both of them have done it previously, they sound like a pair of 14 year olds with Turrets straight after a win.

Good performance by Tzsyu. About what I expected- not too much to complain about. Also liked the way the referee gave Harrison guy every chance to keep fighting.
