Agree with this. Given the obligations, the winner of Fury-Usyk could well get shot of Dubois in the next defence, and then Joshua and Joyce fight a semi-final for the following one. Plenty time this year for all three of those fights. Wilder is effectively locked out of that scenario.
Thread died a death since apparent tentative agreement Makes me think people would rather this not happen so that they can moan at Fury lol People seemed to enjoy peacocking around giving it big licks when it looked like it wasnt
Can't see why any boxing fan wouldn't want a fight for undisputed to happen, especially as there is so much intrigue on how this one plays out given the differences between the two. I'm still not convinced it will tbh so trying to not get my hopes up. Hopefully we get an announcement in the next few days.
Think it’s more people were gutted it looked like it wasn’t happening. Sometimes your more likely to comment on something your really gutted about than content with, unfortunately! As much as I like usyk and found Tyson annoying in negotiations, current gut feeling is Tyson pins down usyk late and bludgeons him for a stoppage. But keep flip flopping to other scenarios! How do other people see it going now it’s (hopefully) signed?
Thread seemed to be going strong until about 8pm. Perhaps people just have better things to do on a Saturday night than talk about a fight that may or may not happen?
Because some people will never admit they were played by a theatre from both sides, as this fight was agreed probably month(s) ago and they can say whatever they want about the split, but what is put on paper and signed we don't know. But it's nicer to *hit on Fury because if the fight is on, there's however a risk of Usyk losing and some already started the excuses: "Fury will use his size" and so - ffs, how can one be big, but not use his size? Like not using your speed when you're fast, as Usyk is.
Yeah I don't understand why people think a fighter using their size is a negative of sorts. It's a combat sport so of course physical attributes will play a part. It's not like having a good chin is entirely down to skill either is it. I disagree that it was signed months ago though. No way would Fury have stayed silent throughout that whole period if it was. At the very least he'd have been shouting about it in Saudi the other week.
Like literally, people who I know who will no doubt try and get tickets, had no idea about the negotiation back and forth until I told them the outcome last night. Tank v Garcia is the week before Undisputed, they have already sold out their event and started the promotional rounds. Keeping silent is counter productive if you want to sell a fight. Especially when there is only 6-7 weeks to go and the number of big fights it is in close proximity to. Just ask Warren and Whyte.
Organize such an event with all the personnel and services requires however some planning. Also, booking Wembley is not like booking a table at a restaurant. Add the people who probably bought tickets and booked hotels. And there wasn't other big fight that was promoted in such way, making people impatient. It's a fight this big that maybe promoting it like that is better, otherwise will turn into an AJ-like commerce. Whatever, it's on and that's what we wanted.
Lets hope so mate. Albeit I've just realised I'm on a flight on that date. Due to land at 8pm. Gulp...
Or maybe people like you just can't hack the fact that Fury has now pulled Usyk's pants down and could end up giving him a good beating too. That would hurt a lot of the forum crowd. I mean, you would be hurt for sure. I've seen your posts and it's obvious what side you're on dude.
nah there were loads of people here desperate for it not to happen so that they can harp on about how Fury ducked Usyk and how his record is crap etc. With a win he goes down as one of the absolute greatest in history and that's a lot for some of the people on here to take. Too emotionally invested in this. Even had people using authority to say they are sports experts and their opinion counts more than etc. It was all getting a bit cringey
Behave. Furys not going down as one of the best in history beating a 40 year old klitchko in a tight fight. Beating a flawed guy in wilder then beating a guy thats came up from cruiserweight. Its hyperbole. Fury fan here as well. Very good fighter. But one of the best in history...do me a favour. Same as mayweather etc. Competition not been good enough over the years. Great fighters that deserve all the credit in the world. Also best fighters of their generation...no problem. One of the best in history...not for me. Competitions not good enough. Long periods of avoiding decent fights. Too long to make good fights and spending too much time in the early days fighting mediocre opponents. Usyks...a great fighter. Hes a blown up cruiserweight fighting a physical freak at heavyweight tho. Furys got weight, length, size and home advantage. Hardly a fight that puts you down as one of the greatest in history.
