Good thing social media wasn't around when Muhammad Ali was fighting. People got sick of him, and there was only 30 minutes of national news on a day.;)

Sure, I want Fury to win. He's great for the division. He's a lightning rod.

Do you know how freaking BORING it would be if he wasn't around ... and one-fight-a-year Usyk, who can't string a complete sentence together ... was the only champ?

Usyk's "dry" almost "mime-like shtick" doesn't work unless he has someone vocal like Fury to bounce it off of.

If we just had Andy Ruiz smiling and Usyk smiling and everyone shaking hands, and everyone being oh so polite, and touching gloves after every round, and hugging all the time ... you guys would be bored out of your minds. Joshua tried that, and it got old really really fast.

Lennox Lewis tried to be a gentleman, and people thought he was gay. And when he got angry and destroyed people, fans loved it. They don't want a gentlemanly, passive heavyweight champion. Fans want a heavyweight champ who can beat up anyone in the world.

Plus, for all the garbage he spews, Fury can back it up in the ring. And everyone knows it.

There's a famous quote about World Heavyweight Champions that points out every dominant heavyweight champion was actually a bit insane. Because when you are the World Heavyweight Champion, you may actually be able to beat any other man in the world, and that weighs on you. No matter where you go, every room you enter, there is some clown skulking in the corner who either thinks he can beat you or wants to test you. And it wears on them.

So Fury can be funny one minute and nasty the next, because he's a violent man in a violent sport and there's always someone gunning for his head. And, if Usyk is stepping up to challenge him, then don't expect Fury to treat him nice and shake hands and act all cordial.

The top heavyweights have always been some of the most violent people on earth. How well they can control themselves and can limit their violence to the ring can sometimes be difficult.

It's important to the sport and the division to have an alpha male as heavyweight champ ... and not some shrinking violet.

You seem to confuse bullies and braggarts with "interesting" and "character". Usyk has a fascinating personality, and I, for one, get really easily bored with the loudmouths who still act and talk like high school dropouts.

It’s actually sad that fury can hold up the division, Usyk is fighting for undisputed, even AJ who is also all about the money was fighting for achievements but fury would rather fight guy likes jake paul und ngannou and co.

I'm not confusing anything. I've been a fan of the heavyweight division since the 1970s. I've seen what works with fans and what doesn't.

Braggarts aren't interesting if they can't back it up.

Fury can back it up. When you can back it up, it isn't bragging.

You can feel Usyk's "I'm the quiet, dancing guy who makes funny faces" act is interesting, but two nice guys or two smiling mimes don't get anyone excited about their match.

At heavyweight, people want to see FIST FIGHTS.

And Fury is making this bout with Usyk, which is a mismatch on paper and probably will be on fight night, into a fight everyone will pay to see ... because now they want to see Fury lose.

And when you're a dominant heavyweight who people want to see lose, you've got them and their wallets.

Its more of a get the f on woth it already.
Im tired of endless talking about fights that should have already happened.

That we didnt have a heavyweight undisputed in 20+ years is exactly whats wrong with boxing.

Fury's just as fake Joshua now! would love to see Usyk or Joyce beat him but don't think he fancies it with either of them

That's just your opinion. I like my athletes respectful human beings. Look at Federer and Nadal. One of the fiercest, most well-known rivalries in the whole of sports history, and yet, you couldn't find two nicer blokes. But in case you'd say boxing is different: look at Joe Frazier. Look at Joe Louis and Max Schmeling. Nice blokes, yet people were crazy about seeing them fight.

    Vacate the belt?

All of Usyk's belts were already taken from Fury without anyone beating him.

You're going to have to beat him if you want this one, Oleksandr.

Fury fought three months ago. He isn't holding anything up. Unifications are optional defenses.

Feder and Nadal don't punch other human beings in the head for a living. Good Lord.

If you want "respectful" boxing champions, pick another division. World Heavyweight Champions don't tend to be nice guys in general.

They are the most violent of all the boxing champions because they have to be able to beat anyone ... not just some tiny men who weigh between 119 and 122 pounds, or some bull like other lighter-weight boxers do.

WHAT? The Joe Louis-Max Schmeling fight wasn't a bout between two nice blokes. It had more racist (Black/Jewish/German/American), global RAGE centered on it than just about any single fight in history. And Joe Louis HATED Max Schmeling. HATED him for beating him. And Schmeling didn't exactly like Joe, either. After he knocked Louis out, Schmeling hated Louis for blocking his title shot with Braddock. Schmeling went to court. Showed up at a fake weigh-in for the Braddock fight the night he was supposed to face him.

They became friendly when they were old men, but old fighters tend to have most of the fight beaten out of them by point.
