He faked it vs dawson imo. I stayed up till 5 am to watch him fake out of that fight. Was later changed to a nc.

The Dawson fight for sure, did it against Calzaghe as well. It got to the point where I would watch a B Hop fight and just expect him to do it. Dude had/has zero class.
The heavyweight John Ruiz, he was always looking for an angle to get a win/draw or NC in any way possible and it worked for him.
Sonny Liston vs. Muhammad Ali Actually I think Liston might have been a bit hurt in fight 2, and a bum shoulder as in fight 1 is nothing to laugh about. But someone was going to say this. It might as well be me!
No one mentioned the "King" ... Luis Santana. Luis won a title and made his first successful defense laying on his back with his eyes closed "playing dead" like a possum.
I have to say: Ive seen many times when a boxer just lays down because he or she doesn't feel like getting hurt more. It's a way of quitting but making it look more honorable. I don't even blame them when they do that because only they and God know what kind of pain or lesion they are suffering when they resort to that. So yes, it's quitting, but not like in some cases when boxers just decide they don't want to fight anymore. To expand a bit on the latter observation, I can't even judge Roberto Duran in that sense for Leonard part 2 because, unproven suspicions aside, God knows, maybe he was indeed feeling cramps and we don't know that, only he and God know what he was feeling! He claims it was painful, so who knows? I certainly don't. But back to the point, yes, I've seen it. Case in point: Livingstone Bramble says he just knelt on the floor in his fight with Edwin Rosario and let the referee count to ten. Because he felt Chapo's power and did not want to get hit constantly like that for 13 more rounds. Does that make him less of a fighter and less courageous in my mind? Certainly not. Chapo's power was real, and boxing is a dangerous sport. Again, we don't know what type of agonizing pain Bramble was feeling at that point.
I don't remember Castro faking an injury against JDJ.... Hopkins obviously was the king of this. He faked injuries on two occasions that I can remember that got the fight stopped, once against Robert Allen, once against Chad Dawson. I didn't used to think the Allen injury was faked, but looking back over his a career as a whole, it certainly fits his pattern. He also faked low blow injuries in numerous fights that didn't result in fight stoppages, but did result in him being given time to recover. Kermit Cintron faked injury against Paul Williams, actually leapt out of the ring and onto the floor (same BS move Hopkins pulled against Allen).
