    Damn shame

At least we got Usyk vs Dubois. It's going to be a funny mismatch as Dubois is forced to quit in round 1

Am I the only one who still believes this is all by design, and that this is still part of the same hustle both sides are coordinating to generate interest? And hasn't Usyk's team claimed this a half a dozen times already? Does that not fit into the cheesy over-the-top soap opera theatrics we've been seeing from both sides?

It's really hard to tell what's real & what isn't in boxing these days lol.

But yeah that does fit with what's been going on, agreed. Damn shame if the fight doesn't get made, though.

I would absolutely love for you to be correct and I'll keep a sliver of hope but I think it's toast :( I haven't wanted a fight this bad in years, maddening.

It most certainly is difficult to tell what's real these days. But I can't kick the feeling that this has been all so public, with so much drama, and die-hard fans of Fury and Usyk respectively going into a frenzy, invested in every little twist and turn. It's too over-the-top. And the April 1 deadline in itself is strange, but then again the WBA is corrupt to high heavens, so them desperately wanting their grubby paws on big sanctioning fees might be the driving force.

But it still feels like a hustle to me, and if I'm right, it's working. The first few replies in this thread on a highly pro-Usyk site are indicative of that. The arbitrary extended deadline allows them to keep the drama going a little longer with new twists and turns, further drawing in an already captivated audience.

I could be way off the mark, of course. But this feels like modern boxing promotion in an era where YouTube celebrities and ex-champions in their 50s can generate more interest than most of the stars of today.

It's perplexing, but that is what a lot of vocal fans are saying.

If they weren't gonna fight, they could have had it not happen a lot more quietly and under the radar.

I'm silly fired-up for this one. I hope I'm right, too! But when it comes to my ability to predict boxing related outcomes - or predictions of ANY variety for that matter - my track record ain't exactly stellar, and I ain't exactly Quasimodo over here.

    But hope runs eternal!

I believe I saw a post from you earlier suggesting that, and while I don't know a damn thing about soccer, I know it's huge internationally, I know Wembley hosted the epic night when Carl 'The Cobra' Froch defeated George Groves in front of 80,000 screaming fans, and I know that it would provide a lot of exposure to fans from England and Ukraiene alike. The timing likewise seems impeccably convenient, if you are Team Fury and Team Usyk, and looking to maximize potential on two elite champions who aren't really bona fide international stars.

I thought you might have been onto something the moment I saw that suggested several hours back.
