Thanks for the informative update and it does remove all excuses - not that failing to be in 100% tip top shape by 29 April was a valid excuse in the first place. Just curious, not that Usyk was ever going to get it, but all things being fair, what do you think would’ve been the most justified split for this fight? That’s if the thing comes off of course - because you can’t split ZERO.
That's one of the most bizarre things in all this. As I understood it, after Saudi fell apart, it appeared the main point of contention was the split, with Fury wanting 60-40 as the A-side, and Usyk insisting on 50-50. And then, suddenly out of nowhere, Fury demands 70-30, and Usyk accepted almost immediately if I recall correctly. I found it peculiar that many fans were claiming that Usyk called Fury's bluff, while the whole ordeal reminded me of a quote from Danny DeVito's character in Ruthless People. Anyway, back when the debate seemed to be regarding 60-40 vs 50-50, I figured this one had 55-45 written all over it, proving once again that IDKSAB.
Lol, well if you DKS, what hope is there for the rest of us? I figured in the realm of 60-40 or even 55-45 as you did - but, as a more than causal fan, I didn’t know if I was standing back far enough to properly gauge the general perception and pulling power of Oleksandr.
Carl Froch has a new podcast and he explained splits based on his experience. He said it wasn't unusual for a champ to get 80/20 against a non mandatory challenger. So 70/30 is BARELY better than that situation. Considering that Usyk has 2 more belts than Fury shows you how confident Usyk is and how little he cares about money. He took the 70/30 with the stipulation that Fury donates £1,000,000 to Ukraine in some form or other. Fury accepted then came back with a no rematch demand, which again I believe Usyk accepted.
Knew it ... Fury never wanted the bout and now it's off .. the fat slob knew Usyk would be too much to handle. We're seeing their beginning of the fall of Fury.
Don't be, Fury is playing all sorts of stupid games and if he pulls one of his make the opponent jump through hoops on no notice or recoup time after another fight like he tried w Joshua and Usyk it will fail .. I'm beginning to think not only is something wrong w Fury but things may end badly for him ...
Tyson Fury doesn't deserve to be ranked anywhere near top 25 all time. Guys a coward always avoiding the big fights with only two good wins under his belt. Can the board stop hyping this fat coward up as if he’s unbeatable. He’s a stain on boxing with his avoidance of all the big fights and this breakdown with Usyk over nonsense is nothing short of enraging. Especially considering he was given 70/30 undeserving split for the first fight. Greedybelly knows he was gonna lose and wanted an extra pay day. My rant is over this sport never ceases to amaze me at its own self destruction
I understand the frustration around the (lack of) an Usyk fight is fresh. I agree that outside of a faded Wlad and Wilder, Fury's resume doesn't stack up well vs most other HWs in contention for a top 25 all time ranking. However, Jack Dempsey's all time ranking has set the precedent, that a lineal HW Champ can not fight his overwhelmingly clear no1 challenger and yet still be considered a top 25 all time HW.
True coward... no heart, no fire, no desire, doesn't deserve to be ranked! If I seen him in person I'd tell him to his face
Lol. without any hoopla going in, I think you’d have more chance than Usyk of securing and engaging in a fight with Fury right then and there.
