I really want you to be right! This is boxing though and if there is a way to let us fans down then it seems that is what will materialise at the moment sadly. Ah screw it, I'm following your lead, I just read back the above paragraph and it sounded so bleak. Mind-frame adjusted........ it's a PR stunt, has to be! It just HAS to be. Optimism re-activated
the only thing that makes me side eye is Fury brought his whole camp out there, was even training with Sugar (i know he was there for Okolie) but he also brought his strength coach and nutritionist your saying he did all that to save face knowing this fight was never going to happen?
In all seriouesness, the thing that still strikes me is this - WHY make things so silly and over the top with all of this stuff in such an orchestrated public way? If they didn't come to terms, they could have announced it weeks ago. But I guess that we are (and have been) witnessing a new era of boxing promotion, where negotiations are predicated on sophomoric battles on social media. I know the days of just waking up and suddenly hearing a big fight was announced are over, as today there is too much manufactured nonsense and marinating and whatnot. I guess that makes me a dinosaur, but I loved just getting the news about a big fight being signed, where we didn't need all this drama before it happened. Keep that stuff behind closed doors! Those days are seemingly long gone. But hope runs eternal.
You really are tiresome, mate. Your arguments are all over the place, with no coherence whatsoever. "I'd be surprised if 1% knew who he was back in 2012, do even 10% know who he is now?" - Lol. Usyk's name has been all over the shop in the UK after he beat Joshua, and he is everywhere especially now - not only people know him but guess what, more and more Brits turn against Fury and support Usyk. "You say Usyk doesn't care about money but wants 70-30 in a much more lucrative rematch if he wins. You say he doesn't care about rematch clauses ("Fury's idea") but won't fight for less than 50-50 without one..." No. I said Usyk cares about legacy first, and money second. Of course, he wouldn't fight for less than 50/50 in the rematch. What stupidly Fury-esque logic it is to even suggest it's an unrealistic idea. "Middleweight Eastern European, you should be happy about your 30% - twice." And you actually believe that ****. The rematch was Fury's idea, and Usyk was initially promised 50% for the first fight, mate. As I said - you are all over the place. "You assume that Fury's not been training regularly and perhaps Fury wanted to push it back to May or June. That would have been hugely preferable to Usyk walking away." Hogwash. Fury confirmed to not have southpaw sparring partners, and SugarHill never arrived in the UK to train him - he has no trainer either. Just two days ago, all the rage in the Fury camp was "hahaha, SugarHill arrived, the camp is real, all he needs is a few weeks" - now you are trying to change the narrative that Fury doesn't even need SugarHill and he needs more time? Once again - incoherent drivel. And why push back to May or June? The 29th of April was Team Fury's date in the first place! Fury keeps going back on his word about stuff HE wanted in the first place - splits, dates, rematch clauses... And you try to put the fight collapsing on Usyk. I start to think you are John Fury. "Fury-Wilder 2: 1,200,000 on ESPN/Showtime, half that number in the trilogy (again 3x the price of the UK). I thought you said "nowhere near a million"?" Oh wait, I just heard a good one about this. "Bogus numbers", I believe - you know, I can play this game too. Fury has **** PPV numbers, that's why he was laughed off by the Saudis. If you just claim Usyk selling over one million PPVs constantly is "bogus", don't you think it's hypocritical of you to expect others not to treat the numbers of your guy with the same attitude? "Otherwise he'd take a minority of the pot (perhaps 35-40%) with no rematch clause and beat Fury then call the shots himself" - Mate, that's exactly what Usyk accepted. Even the 30% was such an insult lowball that everybody expected him to turn it down - that was Fury's intention all along. No unified champion in the history of the sport would have agreed to 30% in the first place, none - let alone fighting in his opponent's backyard, let alone with no rematch clause. Usyk accepted it all, he made all the concessions. It's absolutely disgusting how you and other Furyettes still try to put this whole debacle on him. The whole thing fell through when Fury went back on his word for the umpteenth time again and after first wanting a rematch, then not wanting a rematch, then wanting it again - but to screw Usyk over once again with the percentages. And Fury fans have the audacity to claim that Usyk not wanting to accept anything less for the rematch than 50/50 after he accepted 30% for the first fight as the reigning unified HW champion of the world is pricing himself out. This whole performance of yours, the mental gymnastics, the dishonesty, the whole thing is just absolutely disgraceful. You are no boxing fan, mate, but a fanaticised cheerleader of a bald, cowardly con man. Honestly, I'm out. It hurts my brain to explain such basic stuff over and over like that. It feels like I'm trying to make a kid comprehend why 2 x 2 is 4 and all I hear back is but but but 2 x 2 is 5, no, 1, wait, it's 17.
unbelievable that people are blaming usyk and not fury this is why this stuff keeps happening in boxing, because of stupid fans who justify it
Exactly right. Fury not being held accountable is what kills this sport. That's why big fights keep falling through - fanboys just lap everything up from their favourites.
Your last post: "Anyway, I'm not wasting my time any more explaining obvious things to Fury fanboys. You guys are beyond help and there's absolutely no point in discussing anything with you." Even when you issue an ultimatum you can't let it go, baited back in by my deconstruction of your highly emotional viewpoints. Hopefully Fury and Usyk won't bungle it next time over splits and rematches and we'll see the undisputed fight towards the end of the year.
Fury was never training for Usyk. He was never going to fight, it was just a joke to him. Hes a gypsy from a gypsy family like that family in snatch. The only difference is atleast brad pitt showed up to fight.
Krassyuk doesn't want to say: "This is about maximising revenue and giving Usyk another bite of the cherry if he loses the first fight", even though that's obviously what it's about. Hopefully they'll sort it out sooner rather than later.
Usyk isn't ranked by the WBC, because the 4 alphabet bodies have a stupid unspoken agreement that they won't rank champions from other organizations (except when they rarely do in their respective pay-to-play schemes). So how exactly would the WBC "order it"? That's my question.
