He said once "you have to make your opponent WANT to get hit". WFT did he mean I have no idea!

I've been watching Probox when they have a show on. Not the same level most times, probably, but it's young guys trying to push ahead toward their dreams of being great and famous fighters. They left it all in the ring tonight without a doubt. Additionally, I prefer the commentary to any current competitor by far.

The Forum had fights during the week. I saw Daniell Zaragosa win a world title on a Monday night and saw Thomas Hearns on a Thursday. Monday was a pretty regular night.

Not sure but he often talked about first establishing contact — don’t throw your power stuff, just throw to land (lighter punches) to hit your spots. Get a guy USED to getting hit. Then lower the boom.

Which makes a lot of sense. Vary your power and speed and set up the big shots by first establishing range and target and maybe lull the opponent into a false sense of security.

The ‘top’ part of these (from Biloxi/Bay St. Louis in south Mississippi to Vicksburg further up the state to Tunica in the north) are all riverboat designs. If you see them walking up to them, you feel like you’re walking into an actual riverboat.

But if you go out on the outside railing or look from the edge of the land, you see they’re on a sturdy barge that’s submerged a few feet and you can see the concrete anchorings.

I mean, it makes total sense … you can’t have one of those breaking off in a storm and floating out in the water and sinking. Especially with people on it.

He said…punchers need a few rounds to find that “ sweet spot” on their opponents chin

Bay St. Louis, which, as I remember, I used to think "shouldn't Bay St. Louis be in MISSOURI instead?" lol but maybe there are no bays near St. Louis (the one in Missouri). lol

Well the French settled Louisiana (the state is named after King Louis IX) and the bay (the city of Bay St. Louis is about an hour’s drive from New Orleans and basically separated by Lake Pontchartrain) was also named after the king by one of his explorers, Bienville, who were on a quest to discover the Mississippi River from the gulf. In fact, the expedition spent a good bit of time camping at Bay St. Louis on their way in and on their way out. So it actually makes sense.

That guy has a lot of things named after him! I think Port Louis, Mauritius is also named after him. But I did not know what you just pointed out1 Thank you so much, it was great learning that!

I miss the free boxing that used to be on television every week. I used to tape every show on VCR and had cases of labeled boxing video tapes. Those were the days.
