I'm completely disillusioned and apathetic towards someone being "Undisputed"

What we should be getting is Joshua V Wilder and Fury V Usyk.

What we'll actually get is Joshua V Franklin, Fury V Ruiz, Usyk V Dubois and Wilder V nobody

But then they'll say "next fight will be a big one, promise". Cue 6 months of negotiations and then it falls through at the last minute.

 

I'm really just apathetic towards Fury, as well as any other top 5 heavyweight who decides to fight Ngannou instead of a legit opponent.

 

And this is ultimately because all you really care about seeing is Fury vs Joshua

 

I don't think it's possible to unify belts and be a fraud in boxing. It's a litmus test I rely on and believe works 99% of the time

Winning a belt? Yeah nah. Just look at Boo Bum; never beat a champ in his life

But unifying? You have to be legit to do that. Whether you unify your belts one at a time or win them wholesale from another unified champ, it's a genuine accomplishment

Undisputed is the final level of unification. It (generally) means you're seeking out the best

Otherwise this thread is just attacking alphabet titles and sanctioning bodies, which is perfectly fine, but has been done to death with no change on the horizon

 

Usyk walked way first fury is the undisputed champion by default

There are 4-5 champions per weight class. Best way to assure youre fighting best competition is to fight rival champions. Anything else and youre a gimmick.

Look at Tank. He's been hyped to the gills and he's fought LSC (drug him up in weight) and literally nobody else. During the past 5 years he's ducked Loma, Haney, Teo, and is finally fighting RyGa albeit at a CW and a rehydration clause.

Undisputed is the only way to go at this point imho

 

It completely depends who you speak to - casual boxing fans who watch big fights on sky sports - perhaps.

Posters on here who are more interested at a deeper level - probably not.
