Wino love for Plant/Benavidez?

Shouldn't be a PPV. It's also getting drowned out by March Madness.

 

Great fight. Benavidez is must see TV, and Plant just scored a KO of the year to accompany his interesting style. One of the best fights on paper for 2023, no doubt about it.

 

If you are basing your prediction on what happens at a press conference, lol. There have been plenty of interviews since then. Benavidez knows this is his chance to breakout as a name and showman. He’s been very calm and relaxed throughout. I expect a stoppage before 9.

Looking forward to the fight. Am rooting for Plant but just don't think he can avoid getting pummeled for 12 rounds.

 

It's simple, they are American fighters and this forum is geared more to the UK fighters. Nothing wrong with that, it's just the way it is.

This is a phenomenal fight TBH, probably one of the best this year.

Well the boxing market is in a major recession. We're coming out of the highest of highs where Floyd and Manny earned ~1 million PPVs fighting ANYONE for nearly a DECADE. Fast forward to today and the best PPV earners are Canelo (rightfully), formerly AJ, Fury, and Gervonta.

Keep in mind that Gervonta is considered a PPV success but only sells like 250k PPVs. Spence fights once every two years and he garners ~3-500k buys.

Loma, Inoue, Crawford, and Usyk are somehow not household names and "A" stars despite being the current/former best fighters in the world. So it's not a surprise that boxing in general is poorly promoted anymore.

Anyway, stoked for the fight. I work Thur, Fri, Sat, and Sun 7a-7p so imma miss it live. Can see it going either way but still leaning Benavidez but wouldn't be surprised at all if Plant pulls it out

 

This is a great fight, dunno how anyone can't be excited for this.....I see Bena getting the KO win but wouldn't be surprised if Plant nicked it on points.

 

Like Rummy I think that Benavidez punches too hard and will stop Plant on accumulation.

But I think Plant will probably look decent through the first 6 until Benavidez body work and shots start to take their toll.

Plant counters well, but I don't think he has enough pop to keep Benavidez at bay

I think David will batter him and could get ugly in the late rounds.

Same, Benavidez has been wanting this & Plant for so long.

 

If you see what sparked this whole thing between the 2, it wasn’t even David that was involved. It was his brother. David was just in the back of the crowd chilling. But since so many people are of low level intelligence, they can’t see the difference between the two. Those same low level people will call Plant a real one, but fail to realize it was Plant who started the whole scuffle when he slapped a guy while standing behind someone else.
