When I say 99.9% of other champions in Usyk's posistion would've walked away from negotiations long ago it's not an exaggeration.

If Belly really wanted this fight he would've agreed to a 50/50 split from the get-go. The split Belly's own promoter said was fair and that it would be at the outset. Even a 60-40 split to the winner was very fare. But to then demand 70/30 was disgraceful and what makes it even more so is he tried to low-ball Usyk at a time when the later's country is at war and he knows damn well Usyk is going to be donating a big lump of his purse to his countrymen victims of the war and the more he earned the more he would be donating to them. Usyk is virtually impossible to dislike as it is and you could see that even many of Belly's fellow countrymen within the industry are disgusted at his treatment of Usyk but low-balling him at this present time just makes it that much more unpalatable and despicable.

What people are conveniently overlooking is that a 60-40 or 70-30 split for the winner already weighs heavily in Fury's favour because of how heavily the deck is stacked in his favour. It's not like Usyk wants a larger split for the winner in Ukraine where the deck will be stacked heavily in his favour and the chances of Belly getting robbed are much higher than they are at home. Usyk still has a mountain to climb to win the fight and secure that larger split, Belly just has to make it to the finish line and not get thrashed. The chances of Usyk getting robbed by the judges are very high as are the chances of him being on the receiving end of a premature stoppage if he gets hurt and the ref saving Belly's bacon if Usyk hurts him. The chances of the reverse happening are almost nonexistent and then factor in all the huge physical advantages Belly holds over him too.

niely written. also add into this Usyk was a realtively unproven commodity at HW before fighting AJ and still got a 70-30 split. Ie: more epople were interested to see AJ than Usyk so he could claim 70-30. Now Usyk is a known HW, highly rated and will bring a lot to the table irrespective of belts too. Then throw in the fact his belts are allowing it to be undisputed so extra lustre and lucrative for all parties.

I think it's entoirely Fury's fault namley because he's a mental **** up. But Usyk's team should've known he'd be a **** when being presented with 70-30 in the rematch. And maybe they should've kept negotiations going and scrap April 29th.

Fury just lost much respect in my eyes .

Its obvious that he never wanted this fight in april and tried to make usyk walk away from day 1 by throwing ridiculous demands like 70:30 and then blaming usyk for this not going to happen

To his surprize usyk agreed the deal so he had to continue unacceptable offers until the fight is off.

Why this all ?

In my opinion fury is currently not in a sufficient shape and training to take on usyk and he knows it . He knows he will not be ready in april to look good .
he bluffed and hoped to blame usyk for a duck but usyk realized furys lack of training , he realized he never will get a better chance than now to beat fury so he agreed even to a bold split .
Furys bluff imploded but he does not want to risk loosing against usyk so he torpedoed the deal .

Plain and simple, Fury is a duck.

Fury is scared of the Ukrainian spirit which is why he ducked the Klitschko rematch. As someone who was a huge Tyson Fury fan, I just can't respect this.

I figured Fury would take advantage of his big frame and lean in on Usyk and hold all fight but being that he struggled against Cunningham, who knows, maybe I wasn't giving Usyk enough of a chance.

This will truly tarnish Fury's legacy forever. Same guy who said he would fight AJ "for free" at Wembley yet having all these excuses for this fight. What a clown.

1. The fight will never happen and Fury hopes that Usyk loses as soon as possible so he’s no longer under pressure to fight him.

Fury is also getting older and more worn with every fight that goes by and while it’s currently unknown who is the “older” fighter in terms of overall decline, Fury will be just as gigantic in the future while Usyk won’t be as fast, so stylistically the fight could very well be easier for Fury down the road (plus Fury will have the added benefit of more heavyweight footage of Usyk to study). Furthermore, if Fury steals Ruiz from Wilder next while Usyk fights Dubois, Fury’s fight carries virtually zero risk and would result in minimal wear or new data (Fury’s only additional motivation being to do a better job than Joshua did in Ruiz 2), whereas Usyk’s fight would carry greater risk due to Dubois’ size, footspeed and power and would very likely result in non-minimal additional wear for Usyk. A further benefit of delaying the Usyk fight for this reason is ageing, wearing out, studying and demoralising potential contenders, while allowing them to add to their records and build their profiles (assuming that they don’t lose and remove themselves from contention), Joyce perhaps being the best candidate here (who will be 38 in his next fight after Zhang and 6-8 months older again in his fight after that: he’ll wonder whether he’s ever getting a title fight before he’s 40 despite stopping current WBA mandatory Dubois, which is very frustrating).

3. Usyk defending his titles against Dubois in London will further build his profile in Britain following the high-profile breakdown of the Fury-Usyk undisputed negotiations and add to his heavyweight record (and give Queensbury another heavyweight title fight sooner rather than later), while allowing the Fury-Usyk undisputed fight to further “marinate”: people will be even more desperate to see Fury-Usyk in 8 months time (assuming that one of them doesn’t get upset before then), even if many/most will hope that Fury loses (and Fury will probably be less heavily favoured then as he’ll be perceived by many to not want the fight against the dangerous Usyk, making it seem more competitive and compelling). Fury also gets another substantial, almost zero risk payday and title defence against former unified champion and Joshua-conqueror Ruiz (well known and regarded in Mexico, The USA and Britain) in the meantime, while guaranteeing himself another 8+ months at minimum as heavyweight champion. Provided Usyk and Fury win their next fights, Usyk’s team will be back at the undisputed negotiating table in short order, perhaps even more willing to make concessions.

4. Fury doesn’t want to be contracted to fight Usyk again because assuming he beats Usyk, there are highly lucrative fights (Joyce, Joshua), even for minimal risk (Ruiz) out there for him, whereas Usyk naturally wants another (by his standards) enormous payday and chance to beat Fury. Fury understands that he has a tendency toward complacency, that he performs best when it’s do or die, so without the safety net of a rematch clause. And probably more importantly, Fury may not be able to fully get up for a rematch if he beats Usyk convincingly in the first fight, giving Usyk a much better chance 2nd time round. Denying Usyk a rematch clause can also be interpreted as an attempt at psychological warfare. And any potential pro-Usyk split in the rematch is a non-starter because 1. Fury is a far bigger commercial entity 2. Fury is taking the vast majority of the risk, financial and reputational 3. That rematch would be more lucrative than the first fight 4. Fury may well not even want a rematch clause.

Fury knows that as long he beats Usyk, whether he beats him in April 2023, June 2023 or December 2023 will be virtually irrelevant in the long-run: he’d have Usyk’s name on his record, Usyk would still be 36 (younger than Holyfield in the Lewis rematch) and Mayweather-Pacquiao was pushed back 5 years, nine fights and two Pacquiao losses, one by stone-cold KO, yet in May 2015 it became the most lucrative boxing match ever and most boxing fans believe that Mayweather would have beaten Pacquiao in March 2010 regardless, when the fight was first theoretically supposed to happen. Whereas if Fury loses, the legacy damage is massive and any credit he received for fighting the “featherfisted cruiser” would be minimal to non-existent.

Albeit an interesting analysis, Occam's Razor tells us Fury is simply scared of losing because he knows he is nowhere near as good as he says. He has ducked the two main challenges in his era for two enormous paydays. Like Floyd and other duckers he may take the fight if he sees Usyk age, but unfortunately this is what is destroying boxing. Like the fight with AJ, this fight only makes sense now.
