Think Frank Warren is going to accept 80-20 for a Usyk-Dubois fight? No.

Think there will be a rematch clause? No.

Usyk gets cut and the fight gets called in Dubois' favor, they'll never fight him again.

I'm sure Usyk is very happy with his earnings and legacy up until now.

I'm sure he is, too. :)

Like I said, he's lucky his fighter is so talented. Because it's covering some pretty basic business gaffes by Krassyuk.

Let's see what the split is when Usyk and Diubois fight and whether there's a rematch clause or not.

If any of this is true, I'm quite sure Usyk sees and knows this better than we do here. And he has been with Krassyuk ever since he became a professional so Krassyuk must be doing something right that keeps Usyk happy.

I'd offer a different viewpoint: Usyk never was the money-hungry type. Forget what the handful of Furyette idiots are parroting these days, Usyk was in this for legacy first and foremost. Krassyuk talked many times about how Usyk's motto is "don't think about the money - do the work, win the belts and the titles, build a legacy and money will follow". Maybe this is exactly why he sticks to Krassyuk - because they have the same mentality about money and how high it is on the list of preferences. Or maybe Krassyuk operates this way exactly because he knows Usyk so well - so he could be a money-hungry promoter like the rest of them but chooses not to.

Whatever the case, I was never a believer in being an armchair expert about things we have zero insight about. Krassyuk has been in the game for around 20 years, he learnt the craft under the guidance of the Klitschkos, and he has been with Usyk for over a decade - to say it's quite arrogant to think we can point out how bad Krassyuk is t his job is an understatement. One thing is for sure: Usyk only had 20 professional fights and in that time, he became the undisputed CW champion faster than even the great Holyfield and became the reigning unified HW champion of the world too. No matter how good a fighter is, to reach the top this quickly, to strike deals with the promoters of top fighters one after the other, to create opportunities and find the fastest route to title bouts and big fights requires a fantastic promoter.

And Usyk unified all those belts at cruiserweight in fights put together by another promoter ... with purses for the winners of each fight determined by another promoter ... with the negotiations for the unifications with each org done by another promoter ... and had those fights at heavyweight that were put together by another promoter ... and had all his title fights at heavyweight staged by another promoter ... with his purses in those title fights set by another promoter.

HIS manager/promoter's big contribution seemed to be accepting less than the "average" rate for a mandatory and agreeing it was a good idea to sign away his fighter's negotiating power by accepting a rematch clause when mandatory challengers don't ever have to sign one.

Usyk could've accepted what the other promoters offered him, like Krassyuk did in all those cases, on his own.

You don't need someone negotiating for you if they aren't negotiating, they're just asking when is the fight, where is the fight, and how much are you going to give us for the fight ... and saying that sounds fine.

When the Saudi deal fell apart for Fury-Usyk, and it was up to Krassyuk to negotiate actual terms and percentages with a rival promoter ... it was a disaster.

We'll see if he's better in the future. But his last negotiation with Warren didn't work out so well, and I don't think Frank is going to accept LESS than the minimum the WBA already mandates for Dubois as a mandatory, like Krassyuk did for his guy when he was the mando.

That's totally fine. Lots of talented people in many fields would just prefer to do what they do best, not worry about the finances and leave the money matters to someone else.

The problem is when the person responsible for actually handling the money matters would prefer to leave the money matters to someone else, too.

    You see what I'm saying?

You don't want the person in charge of selling your services accepting whatever people offer, or even less than the going rate, because the money's not important to them, either.

You can be about the glory and the titles, but the money guy on your team needs to be about the money.

My son is one of the biggest boxing fans you will ever see from a kid. Just like some kids are in to WWE and UFC, NFL, NBA etc. he's into boxing. And Fury is BY FAR his most favorite fighter due to his gigantic size and larger than life personality. Once the fight was finally being made, my son was ECSTATIC. Jumping around all over the place. I'm a huge Usyk fan and my son kept telling me that Fury is going to shut Usyk up for good and that will be that.

But ever since the news broke that the fight has been officially called off, my son has been looking for answers and asking me what happened. I told him that Fury is a coward and ran away from the fight, that's what happened. My son kept saying that I'm lying and Fury would never run from a fight because he's the furious one and he's afraid of no one.

But the more news articles he's been reading, the quieter he's become. I talked with him about it this morning about what he's found so far and he didn't say much other than it looks like he didn't want the fight but that can't be it because he runs from no one. I then said it looks like he's running from Usyk and he just got quiet, put his head down and walked away.

    Damn........
