I think there might be more going on here than meets the eye because his comments regarding the Masvidal - GSP comparison is so uncharacteristically dumb for someone like him, especially considering his extensive MMA background ( UFC commentator since 97 with a martial arts background in Tae Kwon Do).
He sounds like a casual when he commentates, I think the fight game has moved on since he first started commentating.
Rogan is just a complete uneducated idiot these days. His takes on mma are now always ridiculous you would think he is a drunk casual talking in a bar. He's made some laughable comments over the years and this is just the latest of them. There is too many to mention but my favourites were when he said that Ronda could beat 50 % of male ufc bantomweights, Ronda could beat Floyd in mma, Woodley is the goat at 170. All completely wrong and stupid comments. I respect the opinion of posters on these boards over Joe Rogans. He doesn't seem to know what he is talking about or he's just got too caught up with following the ufc's narrative he has sold his soul to the company. I don't know it's bizarre really. He can't seriously believe the garbage he says can he ?
He literally said that Rousey could beat Mayweather in boxing. He does things like that. Rogan is at times the ultimate casual fan. At least he (kinda)admitted that his statements about Rousey were dumb.
Gsp technically lost to Johnny Hendricks. Masvidal is capable of beating Gsp, but Gsp wins most of the time.
