Am I The Only Person who Finds Benavidez to Be A Little Overrated?

He beats Charlo but he is overrated.

 

I think he ****s Charlo up. Plant is a slippery mofo. Canelo probably beats him.

 

Entirely over-rated. Only thing he has going for him is his work-rate. Not even close to the skill level of Canelo to be considered much of a threat. 168 just doesn't have a deep talent pool that people were hoping there would be someone to defeat Canelo. That said, Canelo did eventually get beat by Bivol so a lot of the clamor for Benavidez has died down. Still probably one of the best fights Canelo can make at 168.

 

He's no overrated because he's not really rated that highly.

 

Benavidez beats everyone in that division bar Canelo, however Canelo is definitely on the slide now so who knows

 

I think he is one dimensional at 168 but as we just saw, he makes it work. Don't think he'll be effective at 175 yet. He's got options at 168. David Morell, Canelo, Berlanga, Pacheco. Charlo can do one, he is not fighting anyone.

 

There are holes in Benavidez's game for sure, but no one at 168 is beating him.

Apart from maybe Canelo, but even then I think by the time that the fight eventually takes place, Canelo will have declined enough that Benavidez UDs him.

 

He gets hit too much but has a great chin size workrate and stamina he's not an easy match up because of that. You don't see people beating down the door to fight him. Although i think bivol a on canelo can beat him. Would love to see him fight David Morrell which would be a war imo.

 

I've been saying it for the whole leadup to this fight.

 

It’s crazy how mad Benavidez makes people. So many wanted him to lose so bad. Now he’s overrated when he just pounded the guy they said was going to beat him because of his high ring iq, great footwork and experience.

 

Yeah, he really messed up by “giving” up his belt.

 

Benavidez is good, but just in the context of this division

He beats everyone else but Canelo is still above him. People will talk Benavidez up and then Canelo will just walk him down, slip every punch and beat the sh*t out of him. Canelo easy UD and no need for a robbery. You can go ahead and quote me on that too

 

Nah he's a good fighter, all credit given for his Performance against Plant.
