Perfect summary. Booker fights to survive, where as Dinu will outbox Clarke for maybe a round or 2 before quitting in about round 4 or 5.

10x3 Kris Terzievski v Django Opelu (Australian & Commonwealth H/W titles)

Django in the ring. Kris T on his way.

10x3 Kris Terzievski v Django Opelu (Australian & Commonwealth H/W titles)

R1 - Kris T 10-9. Django pressed forwards throughout very aggressively. I thought Kris T's jab had the better of it.
R2 - Kris T 10-9. Close round. Django applying the blowtorch though not connecting clean.

R3 - Kris T goes down & rolls his ankle. Appeared injured but willing to continue. Ref says he's unfit to continue after consulting the doctor. Ruled a technical draw. The ref didn't apply a count when Kris T went down so not ruled a knockdown. No replay shown thus far. Stream ends. That's all, folks.

Disappointing for both guys. Getting crowned Commonwealth champ would have been a career high for either.

Man that really sucks for both guys. Been on the books for quite a while this fight and both looked in great shape.

Commiserations to the Kiwis for the weekend. You can put the bolt-cutters away my fine feathered friends. Unfortunately the padlock is staying on the New Zealand Boxing Bling Box. I would have opened it up & put the WBO Cruiser belt in myself but my scorecard was out of kilter with the official ones.

That doesn't mean there were no new additions to bling boxes on this side of the world though b/c three of our lady boxers, Caitlin Parker, Kaye Scott & Emma Greentree, won medals at the International Boxing Association (IBA) World Championships in India over the weekend.

I happened to catch Caitlin Parker's fight this morning & she was very unlucky not to get the gold. In fact, 'unlucky' probably isn't the right word to be applied. I would have given her all bar a minute of the rounds contested but apparently she had to win every minute of every round to be awarded the gold. Even then, it might have been a stretch. Chalk that result up to international boxing politics with the home country girl winning the decision (not her fault of course, she didn't score it). Caitlin's new nickname is 'Roy'.

Interesting that most western (& western affiliated) countries boycotted the tournament on the basis that Russian & Belarusian athletes were allowed to compete. Our girls went though & collected as much bling as they did at the Commonwealth games. Well done to them. The men's tournament is in Uzbekistan in May. Our guys need the international experience so hopefully we're sending a team. Hoping to see Teremoana Jnr mixing it with the big boys from Uzbekistan & Kazakhstan.

Stifler Mum's stalwart @MidniteProwler has been given 10 in the bin after some robust discussions in the Plant-Benevidaz RBR.
