Two marquee wins: Vitali and Holyfield. Banjoed by McCall and Rahman. No southpaws, no 6'5+, athletic one-punch KO artists. A lot of tier 2/tier 3 filler (like Wlad but less). Not regarded as a "true great" at the time, seen as overly cautious and weak-chinned.
Yup yup. Now years later people make the likes of Briggs, Morrison, Grant, Botha, McCall etc out to be killers lol His best win, against Klitschko, was only due to a lucky punch that tore Vitali's skin. The punch actually missed its target and the glove skiffed the skin lol
You can look at how many of these "killers" did vs Klitschko era heavies: Rahman lost to Ruiz and Maskaev x2 McCall lost to Norris, Williamson and Gomez Tucker went 1-1 with Norris Akinwande went 1-0-1 with Schulz Golota lost to Brewster and Austin Grant lost to McCline, Guinn and Adamek Briggs lost to McCline and Ibragimov Tua lost to Byrd and went 0-1-1 with Barrett Morrison drew with Puritty Holyfield went 1-1-1 with Ruiz 3-17-4 And this is excluding many lesser names like Phil Jackson who lost to several, or the Danny Williams version of Tyson.
The forum men in white coats will be coming soon to collect @08Horacio08 @Redbeard7 Perhaps they are better suited to watching basketball or cricket.
No point. Just lock this shite sub off for good and let them have their go on youtube, which they already do!!!
I think @Redbeard7 in particular is a good addition personally. Having a range of opinions is good - his posts are well written and arguments justified. I’m really disappointed the fight has fallen through and frustrated with Fury - but I still want to read a range of views.
No problem with different views. If Lennox Lewis is not one of the all time British Greats in anyone's eyes, they must be fishing, have a grudge or really need a better understanding of boxing.
I don't debate that Lewis was a great fighter but I contest the absurd claim that he "walks through everyone in this era" when he got banjoed by two mediocrities in his own, went the distance on eight occasions despite being a boxer-puncher, never fought a southpaw of any note (let alone the GOAT southpaw HW), never fought a 6'5+, athletic, one-punch KO artist (let alone Wlad away and Wilder x3 away) and never fought anyone within 23 lbs of Wilder 2 Fury.
Lewis stopped Ruddock, Grant, Briggs, Golota, and Vitali. He treated men around his own size or taller with brutality, you were probably better off being a short arse.
Nobody said he wasn’t one of the all time British greats lol I even agreed he’s one of the best full stop. That’s not what I pulled you up on
