Froch would've out manned him. You can't play that game against Froch, you gotta outbox him. You gotta be quicker and more versatile in your attack and defense. Benavidez's strength would be a weakness here.

I think froch is just better than Benavidez he would beat him in a war.

Hard not to pick Froch at this moment. Benavidez is far younger and a lot bigger. Let’s see how he gets on vs world class opposition

    Froch wins.

You don't go to war against Carl Froch.

Thought about this on Saturday night watching the Benavidez vs Plant fight and I think Benavidez is all wrong for Froch and wins a decision,

Froch doesnt have Plants foot speed and Froch took advantage of his opponents fatigue. Benavidez wont fade down the stretch.

Benavidez must be pretty damn good to already being compared to someone who is retired. I mean let’s be real here, he just got his first decent scalp.

He is good, and he's possibly the best of the current crop of 168lbers. I think, then, that it's natural to compare him to the last generation of super middles (Froch, Ward, Kessler et al).

As for the thread topic, I think Froch-Benavidez is 50-50. There's no way Benavidez bullies or fights downhill all night against Froch--the Cobra hits too hard and is too physically strong for that--but I can envision a scenario in which Benavidez's volume and accuracy get him a win on the cards.

I'd love to have seen Kessler vs Benavidez. I'll take the the Dane by decision in an entertaining affair. :Saeufer:

I’m a fan of the guy. But he’s got more fights to win before the comparisons start imo.

I'd be one of the 362000 in the crowd cheering on the bloodshed.

Benavidez is a better combo puncher, Plant is better than anybody Froch beat.

I think Froch takes way too much punishment to seriously consider fighting the likes of Benevides. This isn't George Groves or some other local pub fighter we're talking about here.
I do think Froch stays on his feet through the end though, but takes a terrible beating in the process a d goes home to his family horribly disfigured
