Have to see Taylor at the weight. This would be a very bad first fight at the higher weight for anyone moving up. I thought he was fighting Teo. Is that fight not happening at 140?
Agreed! Jack won the first fight and got robbed. I like Taylor but calls it like a sees it. Hope he knocks that smirk off Teo’s cocky face and knocks Teo’s scumbag dad out as well. It would elevate Taylor to legend status in my boxing world.

I think Taylor fits well at 140, although he is a huge superlithweight. I dont know if he can compete at the same level at 147, and it isnt about his size. I think he hasnt that kind of skills to compete with the top welterweight. He is rough and usually like to fight inside or mid range, but with fighter that has the kind of natural power like Ortiz or Ennis (without mentioning Spence) he risks a lot. I think he wouldnt beat anyone of top 5 welter. I respect a lot his resume but i believe he would have a Hell of a night even with the actual Porter, even if he is retired. I see Taylor koed with everyone, although he is a warrior and has more than good chin.
Tricky, as Taylor is championship tested but not at Welter, whereas Ortiz is a Welter through and through but isn't championship tested (don't come at me with 'regular title' talk, please). But my gut feeling is that Ortiz has the talent and mindset to really make it big, and also that Taylor moving up in weight would be giving away some of the advantages which have made him so successful at Light-Welter. On that basis I'd lean towards Ortiz, probably on a decision.
Ortiz has almost certainly fought for the last time at 147, so this fight is never happening. But just for arguments sake, Vergil would have far too much firepower for Josh. Both Ortiz and Boots would beat the Hell outta Taylor.
