I see Brook posted a photo on his IG with Eddie the other day, absolutely ludicrous if that fight gets made. Although a retired Brook is still superior to Benn, eggs or no eggs, in all areas apart from his age.
I don’t understand how another reputable board or commission could licence Benn given that he’s under investigation (and trying to evade that investigation) by another competent body which is regarded as if not the best but one of the best jurisdictions in world boxing. It’s like a professional footballer being suspended by the FA for a year or two for whatever reason, and then going over to Spain to play and get round the sanctions. The Spanish FA would say no, we’re not allowing you to play in Spain until your ban in England is up. Granted Benn hasn’t been banned yet. But he’s clearly ignoring and hampering the investigation. Withdraw his licence before any possible sanction which shouts out a degree of guilt. So the board aren’t trying to hamper free trade. They’re trying to eradicate criminality in the world of boxing. There needs to be harsh sanctions for those who break the rules and they shouldn’t be able to run and hide from justice which Benn is clearly doing.
This can't be compared to Haye vs Chisora. Spitting water on a klit brother/fighting at the post fight presser is nothing like PEDing against a guy you're forcing to fight severely dehydrated
I agree, unfortunately I think the only way it gets stopped is if DAZN start the feel that it is damaging their brand and prevent it from happening. But the pressure must be starting to grow, this isn't just being swept under the carpet as some planned, the 'real' press and 99% of boxing & sports fans are completely against it
Yes, it is the only right thing to do as I wrote several months ago in this forum : Boycott all Matchroom events with Conor Benn.
Eddie Hearn is saying that Matchroom might let another promoter arrange Conor Benn's future fights (at least on paper).
Yup, plus the Saudis do not look good in all this if they allow it to go ahead, i thought they were trying to get into the sport and keep it clean, not be dragged in with drug cheats, especially if they are against any type of illegal use of any drug.
