Champions with draws (ties) on their records

    I hate the word draw for boxing, that's why I put tie in parentheses it is the correct word.

    Anyways there aren't too many so I thought hey how about a list of champions with ties on their records, (some of whom were against another champion and so many times we'll have two boxers listed here for a single fight!

    Basically every fighter has a draw on there record. The better question is fighters who don’t have draws on there record.

    Well, I think you may actually be wrong!

    It would be quite a task to examine the records of ALL world champions - so I decided to look just at the middleweight champs. Here BoxRec lists 114 men, who they recognize as champions during the gloved era. Of these, 76 (or 2/3) have at least one draw on their record.

    Is Fenech v Nelson still an official draw? Bizarre if so as Fenech was recently awarded the belt!

    Soon as I saw this post I thought of Carlos Monzon specifically and Argentine boxers in general. Around the 50’s and 60’s they had a lot of draws. I wonder if that was a condition in the scoring or something. Like either a clear winner or a draw would be declared. A bit like No-Decision. I know fighters of that era fought a lot but even more recent Argentine boxers have also lot of draws on their record.
