Australian team for the IBA World Championships in Uzbekistan in May. Good luck to all the boys & let's hope they bring home plenty of bling. The Women's team brought home two silvers & a bronze & were robbed of a gold that would have been our first in either Olympic or World Amateur championships competition. Middleweight Callum Peters won silver at the Commonwealth games while Super Heavy Teremoana is a fighter that I think has great potential. Let's hope they can advance in the tournament & get some good experience out of it.

    Emmanuel Shemeza 48 - 51kg NSW
    Charlie Senior 54 - 57kg WA
    Max McChlery 60 - 63.5kg QLD
    Jonathan Sgroi 63.5 - 67kg NSW
    Shannan Davey 67 - 71kg QLD
    Callum Peters 71 - 75kg SA
    Kirra Ruston 75 - 80kg WA
    Billy McAllister 80 - 86kg QLD
    Ikenna Enyi 86 - 92kg ACT
    Teremoana Teremoana +92kg QLD

Good on Alex for telling No Limit to stick it

"Winwood says he passed up a chance to join Tszyu's No Limit Boxing team after he was "low-balled", instead determined to "start a wildfire" in the west with Dragon Fire boxing.
He shares a manager with Moloney twins Jason and Andrew, who are both likely to fight for world titles in the United States in May."

Yeah, I did hear that Jai was thinking about signing with NL, but they were also exploring several overseas options.

Masson is a kiwi. Might live here now but he’s got the NZ flag tattooed on him. Great fight tonight with Turchi.

It's still all one-way traffic on The Boxing Scoreboard. To show what good sports we are, I'm not calling it just yet (i.e. confirming that Australian boxing is more than three times better than the rest of the world combined). Instead, I'm giving the rest of the world a chance to catch up. To prove that there's more to their game than meets the eye (noting, of course, that the numbers don't lie). We won't be favourites in a lot of the upcoming fights. That doesn't really matter though. I expect to win most of them regardless.

    BOXING SCOREBOARD - AUSTRALIA 10 v THE WORLD 3

    AUSTRALIA 10
    Alex Winwood
    KO 4 Tibo Monabesa (Indonesia)
Brock Jarvis KO 4 Marlon Paniamogan (Philippines)
Darragh Foley TKO 3 Robbie Davies Jr (United Kingdom)
Sam Goodman UD10 TJ Doheny (Ireland)
Paulo Aokuso UD10 Yunieski Gonzalez (Cuba)
Tim Tszyu TKO 9 Tony Harrison (United States) Wins Interim WBO Jr Middleweight title
Dana Coolwell UD8 Hasibullah Ahmadi (UAE / Afghanistan)
Vegas Larfield TKO 6 Sunan Agung Amoragam (Indonesia)
Rebecca Hawker TKO 2 Carisse Brown (United States) Retains WIBA Featherweight title
Floyd Masson UD12 Fabio Turchi (Italy) Wins IBO Cruiserweight title

    THE WORLD 3
Emanuel Navarete (Mexico) TKO 9 Liam Wilson (27 second delay after Wilson scored KD. Wilson made to weigh-in nearly a full weight division below the house fighter). For WBO Jr Lightweight title
Charly Suarez (Philippines) TKO 12 Paul Fleming (Fleming dropped & stopped in the last minute of a 12-round fight while ahead on the scorecards. Where are the American 27-second long-count referees when you need them?)
Jarrell Miller (United States) TKO 6 Lucas Browne (Brutal fight. Courageous effort from Lucas.)

    UPCOMING
    Jason Moloney
v Vincent Astrolabio (Philippines) for the WBO Bantamweight title on 13 May
Cherneka Johnson v Ellie Scotney (United Kingdom) for the IBF Super Bantamweight title on 20 May
Dennis Hogan v James Metcalf (United Kingdom) for the IBO Jr Middleweight title on 20 May
Andrew Moloney v Junto Nakatani (Japan) for the WBO Jr Bantamweight title on 20 May
Jai Opetaia v Mateusz Masternak (Poland) for the IBF, The Ring & Lineal Cruiserweight championships
George Kambosos v Maxi Hughes (United Kingdom) for the IBO Lightweight title in June
Michael Zerafa v Erislandy Lara (Cuba) for the WBA Middleweight title
Demsey McKean v Joseph Parker (New Zealand) for the Southern Hemisphere Heavyweight title
Stevie Spark v Gabriel Valenzeula (Mexico) for the Montana Love Ohio Glass title
Tim Tszyu v Jermell Charlo (United States) for the Undisputed Light Middleweight Championship of the World

It's known as the Russell Crowe equation.
If Rusty is winning oscars he is Aussie but if he getting into blues with publicans his New Zealand heritage gets mentioned.
Same with Floyd, if he wins we claim him but if he loses it will be "Kiwi Down!" from @Sandman_

I'm also hearing that Australian boxing's Cruiserweight stocks have been bolstered by the addition of a recent Kiwi Olympic medalist. Plenty of talented big men up there in Queensland, that's for sure. What about this for a line-up? Jai Opetaia (CR), Floyd Masson (CR), David Nyika (CR), Justis Huni (H), Django Opelu (H) & Teremoana Jr (SH). Can't wait to see Nyika challenge for a world title to the strains of Advance Australia Fair.
