Flynn and Baker have both only had 1 kon each before yet they've turned into Gatti Ward tonight. They are absolutely battering each other. Rewatch the fight later guys

Checking in early tonight. Flynn vs Baker was a war, shows when you match fighters against someone actually coming to win you can produce some very good fights. Flynn was expected to win but matching him against Baker was a very good move and that fight with teach him more than 5 against Eastern European taxi driver, speaking of which Huber managed an upset win in the fight before, also an entertaining fight, onwards and upwards towards the main event, lets hope AJ gets back to being a wrecking machine and stops Franklin inside 4.

I've just watched the the Franklin Whyte fight and scored it:

    1. Franklin
    2. franklin
    3. Whyte (close)
    4. Whyte (close)
    5. Draw
    6. Franklin
    7. Whyte
    8. Franklin
    9. Franklin(close)
    10. Whyte
    11. Whyte (close)
    12. Whyte

I had whyte winning by a point in a very close fight containing a lot close rounds to judge.

I've only seen Franklin fight once before against Forrest. I wasn't impressed with Franklin in that fight and thought Forrest just edged it.

I was impressed with certain aspects of Franklin in the Whyte fight:

Workrate - out worked Whyte for a large part.

Speed - he's not up there with the like Usyk, Ruiz or Parker for hand speed but he does have a quick jab.

Chin - Got caught with uppercut in the 6th, a big right hand flush in the 10th and got hit some big shots in the final round, all of which Franklin took well. Looks durable and has a good chin.

That said Whyte was poor by his standards, looked much slower than I had seen him before. Whyte didn't look near the quality he was was against Parker and Rivas.

I watched it back about 2 weeks ago and i had it exactly the same apart from i had Franklin winning 5 as i don't like having 10-10 rounds.
But by this point Whyte was shot to bits so all these people saying Franklin is in shape and AJ is in trouble are completely off their nuts.
I'm no AJ fan and I generally don't really think he is any good himself but he is 2 time HW champ and if he has any aspirations to even challenge for a belt again he needs to absolutely smash Franklin to bits and KO him in brutal fashion. Anything other than this outcome means AJ is also shot to bits. To add to this AJ needs to also show he is mentally in it after the meltdown in Saudi, a mentally shot fighter can be worse than a physically shot fighter IE David Price. We will learn a lot about AJ tonight which is why this is a good comeback fight even if it just to get a bit of confidence and bed in his new trainer.

    Good observations.

Is it just a bit of a coincidence that some fighters who looked World Level Challengers suddenly look very poor following the Connor Henn Eggs fiasco?

Caved in and restarted my DAZN sub for this tonight because my son wanted to see it.

Whether you like AJ or not, his fights are big-time events - you can imagine this being a decent atmosphere by the main event time and particularly if AJ bangs Franklin out in Charles Martin style. Entirely possible.

No way Whyte won that not being funny but you've clearly had to reach as hard as you can to chalk this one up for Whyte.
