I think we can safely say that we remember things differently.

Why would all four officials, ref plus 3 judges, be American in both fights with Kov?

Why would the pro Ward HBO crew score it for Kov ?

Even Andre's win against Kessler (in Oakland despite that it should have been in Copenhagen) was replete with dirty play throughout.

No, I just don't see him as ATG material.

He had a decent SMW career, even if he never left his own back yard.

Kessler and Froch were pretty much leftovers from Joe Calzaghe's plate and they weren't anything special. Kovalev also isn't someone to make a career from beating and didn't Andre have to lowblow that dude Golota style to win?

Andre was probably a decent enough fighter but it looks like he like many fighters these days are just born into the wrong time period with insufficient interest in the sport, the sport being run the wrong way and a scarcity of good fighters out there.

Kovalev was a huge hype, and dare I say it, a modern day "white hope"...if there was any bias in favor of Kov (taking your word for it), it was to protect the hype and continue towing this line, which is still being done TO THIS DAY with baseless excuses such as the low blow narrative

I had the first fight with Kovalev scored for Ward, but it could easily go to Kovalev. Seeing as he was defending the title, perhaps it should have, hence the home cooking. Still impressed by Ward's heart.

The "White hope" thing was mostly at heavyweight and hasn't been a thing since Holmes Cooney.

And the bias I mentioned was in favour of the home fighter, American Andre Ward.

And even with all of that, the HBO crew called it for Kov against their own guy.

And why all American offiocials in both fights ?

And what third world regimes do we need to scour fight judges from to fulfill your likings?

& Wards hardly a 'black hope' he was spawned by a white man. Kovalev was legit. No hype. He's a cert for HOF... he also CLEARLY beat Ward first fight. Second time he got Golotad & should have returned in kind but failed to do so so lost. White even is a white hope? Because most of the best fighters today are white, seen as you mention it.. that's just fact, not racism. So what are white ppl hoping for exactly?

His rematch win over Kovalev was beautiful. Stunned the previously iron-chinned Kovalev with a super right hand, and then landed three brutal body shots to win the fight.
