I flick between that and the Sky show on Saturday. I was meaning more looking forward, Matchroom have quite a big schedule out covering the next few months and Boxxer announced a few shows yesterday (with more to be announced apparently),it leaves BT's schedule looking very slim. I hope they pad it out,between the 3 of them we really should be getting a decent show every week
Only 4 Queensberry shows from January-April this year. And one of them was a “Prospects” show. But I thought Queensberry had overtaken Matchroom in the UK..
Not sure they ever did really overtake, feel like it was more a case of nobody knowing hearn is now on DAZN- hearn massively underestimated the jump imo. Queensbury don't really have any headliners on regular BT except Yarde and Joyce imo, and neither are huge draws, yarde didn't sell out vs Beterbiev (AJ same this weekend) and Joyce Zhang will probably be a half full copper box. Dubois normally on PPV now so I excluded him. Boxxer 2 years in and hardly pulling up trees are they, the show quality/cards are just as bad as what Hearn was putting on, if not worse. They seem to be getting a pass. We never get told DAZN numbers, but lets be honest, they will be **** and very low in the UK, and will remain like this until they get some football rights. Some of the warren cards have had peak audiences of like 10,000 haven't they? All 3 promoters are underperforming and doing ****, British boxing is in the bin. AJ brought it back 2015 onwards and fair play, but **** me he and everything that comes with him has gone off a cliff last 2/3 years, and British boxing has felt it. I see Queensbury as the cheap and cheerful promoter. You kinda know what your gonna get, with two or three big UK regular BT fights a year.
Just seen a interview from today where Shalom says 2 more shows to be announced next week......any ideas what to expect? I'm guessing Marshall, maybe Liam Smiths next fight been sorted? Got to be a few more from his stable due a run our
Adam Azim maybe on June 10 maybe at York Hall is one. Savannah Marshall vs Franchón Crews-Dezurn is the other, I think in Newcastle.
It is also the date of The Championship Play Off Final with the KO time yet to be decided. Be either 1500 or 1730. A busy date of top sport.
