Fat Elvis version of Ali vs fresh out of prison Tyson

Tyson on points, according to most at ringside. However, the judges have it 118-111 to Fat Alvis.

 

At what stage of Muhammad's 70s career would you consider to be his "Fat Elvis" version? My take is that the 1970-75 version of Ali beats 1994-96 Tyson. I would favour Tyson for any later incarnation of Muhammad.

 

I think mid 70s Ali finishes Tyson. He was super durable (as proven against Foreman and Frazier) and Tyson didn't have what it took to knock him out at that stage in his career. Ali spends most of the early rounds conserving his energy, and when he reaches the later stage of the fight, he will pummel Mike and TKO him.

 

The great shape Ali was in the second Norton & Frazier bouts and the Foreman one as "Fat"?

 

No idea. None of us really know what Tyson had left at that point because he either ended fights quickly or lost/got DQ’d in a foul filled wrestling match to Evan Fields.

A lot of the outcome would depend on if Tyson had the conditioning to complete 12 or 15 and if the ref would allow Ali hold at will. Ali was also inconsistent in the mid to late 70s.

 

Any version of Ali from 64-74 would beat an 80s Mike Tyson.

But the key word was FAT and Elvis wasn’t always FAT in the 70s, and still in fine voice.

Just as Ali was leaving the boxing scene for a while, Elvis came back to take over the iconic reigns.

73/74 Ali was more Blue Hawaii Elvis - well, at least in terms of not being fat. Have you ever heard Ali sing? If not, I would then say don’t.

Later, Elvis had his Karate - but he still appeared as if he never lifted a weight in his life.

Later career, his reboots Love Me Tender Fillets and Viva Lasagne were huge hits.

In 73, he gifted Ali a robe that read Peoples Choice via Rhinestone jewels - but it should’ve read Peoples Champion.

It cost $3000 and Elvis was upset by the “error” in the wording.

Anyway, Ali first wore it against Bugner, 2nd time for the first Norton fight. A loss and broken jaw later, Ali never wore the robe again considering it to be bad luck (surprise, surprise).

Its nice to Know there are people around who think the same way. I heard "Fat Elvis" and my mind automatically thought, he wasn't Fat. I mean just look at his movement and skills. Of course he could be mistaken for some one as high as a kite but.. we will leave that part out.
