He landed at least one right hand in the fight, before Quarry timed him trying to land another.

What does that even mean? Being tense doesn't help you take punches and, when they fought, he took a right hand from Shavers and not only stayed upright but knocked Shavers out.

One of my favorite fights was when the Acorn squashed a Bug. Shavers tko Bugner.

It was a huge Bug too!

Tbh, Earnie pulled a double foul for the KD.

If not for the cut, I think Joe had a good chance of surviving until Earnie began to fatigue - say in another 2-3 rounds.

I don't dislike too many fighters but at least at heavyweight, he's my least favorite boxer. If you're a big guy, then you better be able to punch, and his style I call peck and poke. You put him in there with a threatening guy, and he just wants to go the distance. Plus he talks a lott crap in interviews, like saying he was going to knock Bruno out, I didnn't give him a single round and glad he got stopped.

I guess we disagree on the terms then. When I say relaxed, I mean patient, not working as aggressive a game plan. If Quarry had come out against Shavers the way he came out against Jimmy Ellis for instance, he would have been toast.

Fair enough. I know some aren’t too fond of Joe. I’m okay with him though. Though Frazier really put it to him, Bugner still gave plenty back - came very close to putting Frazier down also.

Uh, I'm not so sure about Muhammad Ali. He did box 15 rounds with Earnie Shavers, and he did eat Shavers' bombs, but I'm not sure Muhammad Ali would have ever been down.

Sonny Banks, Henry Cooper, Joe Frazier and Chuck Wepner. That's 4 knockdowns, and Oliver McCall has never been knocked down.
I can agree with you on some of the other boxers; primarily for Oliver McCall, but then again, I don't think there would be that many boxers who would eat the ultimate puncher's bombs.

Well, many might not accept Ali's anchor punch as being sufficiently legit to drop Liston - but Savon's right hand on the incoming Tua (for compound impact) shared some characteristics of that punch.

I had seen this fight several times before but only ever the one angle at normal speed. With more affording, multi angle slow motion replays (if only we had same for Lewiston Maine) one can see there is a little bit of head clash after Savon lands on Tua. Tua doesn't go down immediately upon the punch, but he does begin to drop after the head contact. That could be a delayed reaction from the punch, the timing being purely coincidental. Hard to say for sure, but perhaps, at the least, the head contact only served to add to young Tua being hurt. Otherwise, it was all down to Savon's right hand - which was a beaut at any rate.
