Who was/is more skilled? Shakur or Pernell

    These two are extremely similar but it seems as though that Shakur is more text-book while Pernell was more physically gifted. I've always considered Pernell to be of the most underrated/overrated fighters in boxing history. And I am very high on Shakur. Thoughts?

    I rate Shakur but Sweat Pea was one of a kind and quite clearly the better fighter of the two.

    Shakur hasn't done anything... when he defeats the talents of his generation he will deserve recognition... meanwhile he's nobody... with those pillow hands he won't achieve much

    Pernell wasn't that big of a puncher and Shakur is actually much bigger than Pernell.

    i really like shakurs game, but he aint been tested at the level pea was. let him clean out this division and then you can make a serious comparison.

    I've been impressed by Shakur well before he won a title and was saying he would be a future top P4P fighter well before the majority on this forum but please to even compare him to Whitaker right now is sacrilege, he's barely begun to make a legacy for himself and has no signature wins.
