Thanks for sharing that (11:10 onwards for the Hearn stuff) - Shalom looks genuinely angry, sounds like he thinks it's actionable. Let's see if it is. Khan doesn't come well out of this either, mind. It might be confidential between him and UKAD but sitting on the news for that long is out of order. It would be very amusing if Eddie has got himself in trouble here - but equally IFL's reputation would be in the toilet for merely being the resident megaphone.
Yeah, I think BS is telling the truth here. Really poor from Eddie if so , but fits his play book nicely. Also credit to BS going on FD short notice as they are generally very punchy
Have a day off. You telling me they were not informed about the positive test? Or even spoke about it at the 20 odd shows and during the process of the negotiations for the khan vs Brook rematch. it’s utter drivel if we’re honest. It has never happened that a promoter is not informed about a test fail on one of their shows. if he wasn’t I’d expect him to sue the board for incompetence and refuse to use them in future shows given how much he’s relayed he’s anti drugs
Incredible that people are believing shalom here. The board said they didn't know, then come out and said they knew all along when they got some heat. You honestly believe that the BBBOFC and Khan knew, but Boxxer didn't? Lol. They had to save face and keep the fight on - nobody leaked so they got lucky, the exact same thing which those involved with Benn Eubank woulda done if someone didn't leak to press.
So they "kept the fight on" by hiding a test that didn't even take place until after the fight? OK then. Whether you believe Shalom or not is one thing but don't make stuff up. I guess we now know why Khan retired rather than take the rematch or fight Pacquiao though. Hearn alluded to that in a separate interview yesterday.
How could he refuse to use them moving forward's? Genuine question as they are pretty awful so interested in the alternatives
Read the UKAD rules they do not inform the promoter. Khan retired so at that point negotiations ended. It could be this happened before the fail came through.
There are alternatives, for instance Haye vs Chisora was licensed by the Luxembourg boxing federation as the BBBC had refused to license Haye.
I may be wrong but I assume as we are no longer part of the EU it isn’t so easy to get an EU commission to license cards in this country.
Would be interesting if proven true, but we can't take anything that account says seriously. Their Twitter header literally offers readers the chance to write for them if you email and ask nicely. What someone there has done is listened to the Fight Disciples interview with Shalom, saw his reaction, and taken it to the most extreme conclusion. For a start, this isn't the USA, you don't just sue somebody within days of an alleged defamatory statement. The typical process over here would be to send a legal letter warning of consequences, and state the terms of remedy you want to avoid taking legal action (e.g. public apology, payment, donation to charity etc etc). They would play legal tennis for several weeks before either hammering out an agreement, or deciding whether to take legal action. Defamation is a costly business and rarely ends well for either party - just look at Vardy vs Rooney.
That twitter account is one of the worst. It just says anything without foundation and people take it as gospel.
Something odd has happened with it, years ago it used to be okay but recently it was as if it was bought by Matchroom for a bit as it was so pro AJ, Anti-Fury, now it is flipping again, almost like it has a good following and will sell a narrative for a bit to the highest bidder, all a bit strange.
