    Sonny Liston, Champion
    1. Cassius Clay
    2. Doug Jones
    3. Ernie Terrell
    4. Cleveland Williams
    5. Zora Folley
    6. Eddie Machen
    7. Floyd Patterson

Lenox Lewis did not achieve this. And then Muhammad Ali, after 3 and a half years of exile, did it again, which borders on the impossible.

Lennox Lewis has no better resume than Muhammad Ali.

No. Ali's resume is head and shoulders above anyone else. LL's resume belongs with Mike Tyson's, which are excellent but a step below Ali's.

There is Ali than all the rest. The 1970's was considered one of the toughest era's in HW boxing & Ali beat them all & did it in his 30's.Just imagine if he didn't get 3 & a half taken from him what he could have done,I truly believe he could have beat Louis boxing record for consecutive title defenses (25) .Not to take anything away from Lewis who i have 4th amoung HW but Ali was just another level.Lewis is only 1 of 3 HW to have defeated ever one he faced.

If Ali had not come out of retirement & fought those last 2 fights than he would have retired as 1 of only 4 HW to have defeated ever one they fought. He avenged his first 3 losses against Frazier (twice) Norton (twice) & Spinks.Ali had no business making a come back at 39 when he was already showing signs of Parkinson's syndrome which is indeed cause by trauma to the brain & probably made in worse.Parkinson's disease is Genetic Parkinson's syndrome is caused by trauma. They have the same symptoms how ever people with Parkinson's syndrome tend to live longer.

X2 excellent post, couldn't have said it better!

The only thing I will say is that some of these posters would make excellent speech-writers for politicians.

Ali has five wins over my all time top tens and four more over my all-time top twenties.

In addition, some of his lesser scalps included wins over Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Ernie Terrell, Jimmy Ellis, Buster Mathis, Zora volley, Cleveland Williams, Ron Lyle ,Jimmy Young and Ernie Shavers.

    I don't believe it's close.
