Carlos Monzon vs Marvin Hagler

With all due respect, this thread has been done a zillion times, there are other greats that these two could be matched against.

 

I'm going with Monzon by a narrow decision.

I can't think of any middleweight in history who would beat Hagler inside the distance.

Yes Hagler, the guy who was never knocked down (the BS ruling in the Roldan fight aside) and the guy who gave barely any hint of being badly hurt in any fight. That chin needs to be carved into Mt Rushmore.

 

Definitely! I love the idea. The stone masons can carve Hagler's chin right below George Washingtons chin since there's a lot of room there. GW new nick name would be double chin.

Exactly. If someone wanted to play up the cuts angle, well they could work with that a little. But a KO? Briscoe, Griffith, Bouttier and Valdes x 2 all went 15 in title defenses. Only Duran got past 11 with Hagler and of course Leonard went 12 in Hagler's last defense. The matchup SCREAMS 15 rounds unless you punted on the chance of a cut and even that's long odds truth be told, tho not completely impossible.
