You've obviously never read anything from Mark Dunham aka Redroaster then.

 

I feel like Trinidad is over rated. He spent most of his prime thinking about a comeback while Miguel was busy keeping fans in the seats every Puerto Rican day parade!

Kalambay's a tough H2H matchup, a couple losses make him hard to rate imo

 

Some may debate the almost token rating of him as #1 ATG but I've seldom seen anyone claim SRR is overrated in the boxing ring. Even the sternest modernists seem to steer pretty clear.

 

Nobody has ever said Pat Cowdell was over rated. Four time ABA Champion, Commonwealth Gold, Olympic Medalist and a two weight British and European Champion.
Barely gets a mention.

 

Haha. Great post. I guess if Ray Robinson and Ali are “fair game”, there isn’t much hope for anyone else to not be accused of being overrated.

Any boxers who have dodged that bullet likely have flown under the radar, the chronic nay sayers not yet having set their sights on them.

I don't recall Michael Spinks being called overrated. Seems to be really well respected here rightfully so same with Bennie Leonard. Let me edit in Kid Gaviland Ike Williams and Tony Canzoneri
