Usyk isn`t that well known in the UK aside from hardcore boxing fans, the first time he got real exposure to fans in the UK was his first fight v AJ, nobody in the UK knew much about him before that, his fight v Belew didn`t draw big viewing figures.

 

I only heard the version that Usyk came to punish the heavy category, because it is weak.

 

Usyk Bellew did between 500,000 and 600,000 PPV buys in the UK.

He got a title as soon as possible. He fought Wlad who just lost his titles. Fought Parker to unify. Tried to make a fight with Wilder, who later admitted to picking Fury of Joshua.
Had an immediate rematch with Ruiz, after many claimed he quit that night. Heck, I still remember how a lot of people here were adamant that Joshua would not take the rematch and that how he was forced to take it.
Then he fought Usyk. And had an immediate rematch. Again, a lot of people said Joshua was scared to take the rematch. And when it was finally signed, others claimed that Joshua was forced into it.
