Be good to see him fight twice in December as he's definitely fighting three times this year.

Just retire at this stage. We'll have to wait till December to watch him fight a very passed it Dillian.

It's getting tiresome. Last time in one of the 100 YouTuber interviews he did before Franklin, he was going on about how it's still about the money, he's a prize fighter etc. He must be raking it in because he's never in a rush to fight again.

Maybe he's decided to try another trainer and give them a while to get ready.

It’s odd, if (as predicted) he’s fighting someone like Whyte next then there’s no reason for such a long break.

I’d expect him to make short work of Whyte if he fought him next week, let alone 8 months time.

The casuals have been switching off to him recently, their was 1 clear route back, get active and get in against decent opposition. If it really is Whyte & December then its as good as over

He should do, but I doubt he would. Another 12 borefest.

Clearly feels he has only a few fights left in him, which is why the 8 months until next one. Just retire.

I wonder if it is DAZN that has made this decision ?

The AJ vs Franklin fight resulted in 300.000 new subscribers to DAZN UK and they should try to keep them.

Everyone in the media world that I have spoken to indicates this is roughly the number that the fight generated in new subscriptions to DAZN UK.

Yes, it's quite impressive and shows that AJ is still a big name.

Then it makes even less sense to have him having another big lay off between fights, I imagine at least half of those will have stopped subscribing by then. Why lose the momentum!

apparently something big is lined up....your guess is as good as mine, surely it can only be Fury or Wilder?

I have heard that it is something DAZN has decided. Maybe they'll buy the rights to another big heavyweight fight this summer ?

It's a career killer in two ways.

    1. Not fighting isn't going to improve him, IMO he should have fought twice since Usyk already and should be lining up a 3rd for the summer.
    2. Interest in him is at a low point, he needs to fight and knock guys out to generate interest.

Tbh I've always found his long breaks between fights pretty... suspicious.
