Yeah he does seem a bright guy but he also reduced himself to biting back on twitter to Conors remarks not too long ago, telling him to pipe down or something.
First post here (please be kind ) I was thinking for a person whose greatest boxing achievements are knocking out past it Chris Algieri, Chris Van Heerden and Samuel Vargas, this whole episode has probably boosted Benn's profile more than if he actually fought and beat Eubank Jr. Whilst most of the new attention is negative, that translates to a lot of people buying Benn's next PPV in the hope of seeing him chinned, and pretty much removes any incentive for Benn and Hearn to address this reasonably. I guess my takeaway here is if you are disgusted by this whole episode, try and avoid paying for the privilege of seeing Benn (possibly) knocked out.
Just about the only explanation I've come up with for some of the cack-handed ways this has been approached has been a willingness to ride the controversy wave and try to turn it into some kind of polarising moment, where everyone has an opinion, positive or negative on the guy and hence interest in what happens next. Although if you're going to get someone to play the heel role it helps if they're not quite as thick as Benn seems to be. Anyway I agree entirely about never paying to watch him fight. I'm not paying for any event he's involved with and have sacked off Dazn now thanks to their involvement. So it's saved me a few quid, thanks Conor. ps. Welcome
Welcome mate. This whole Benn situation is an absolute disgrace. He should get a ban and hopefully disappear for good.
The juxtaposition, calls out Benn’s treatment as being unfair and yet calls for more transparency. If Khan failed in the lead up to a fight, tried to hide it and fight regardless, handed in his license and hid behind lawyers while refusing to co-operate with authorities he’d be being slaughtered too. Things have gone quiet but only because Benn has stopped his idiotic interviews that made him look more guilty if anything.
Yeah the two situations are not even remotely similar. I'm not defending Khan either, but they aren't the same thing. Benn still ain't confirmed his June oppenent.
The cases aren't even the same. I hope Canelo smacks some sense into Ryder. Connor Henn should be grateful that he has such an eggselent promoter like Eggie Hearn fighting his corner.
Very accurate. The one reason I want to see him fight soon is the build up and face off would be comedy gold. As much as I hate the idea of him fighting CEJ, Junior would give him hell in the build up and get right under his skin. Conor doesn't have the wit or charisma to deal with it.
Unsurprisingly they're struggling with a recognised name willing to risk their licence to fight Benn, and are in negotiations with a new novice pro. Thelabtek Nishun, 67, has recently retired from his previous job at a testing laboratory. It is understood the two have crossed paths in life recently, although in a strange coincidence way rather than actually meeting. "Yeah true Koogs, the top guys in, and out, of the division are ducking Conor, but there's a lot of beef and other foodstuffs between these two Koogs, and that's what everyone wants ... Conor's really, really, really up for it."
We shouldn’t eggspect any less, he’s a MR and Sims boy, pushing their hideous narrative trying to gloss over the disgusting behaviour and actions of that scumbag Conor Henn, ahem Benn.
That's why a ban is so important. With another 2 years out Benn will have lost out financially, some of the edge he's gained by using PEDs will be gone and the hype he's got from this whole fiasco will have died down too. Had they managed to pull off the June fight date against a big name they may have succeeded but as it's looking they'll be going back to the board in 6 months with their tails between their legs and getting a 2 year ban which starts from that date, meaning all he'll have achieved with this attempt to hide from the truth is another year out the ring.
