I think Nigel Benn would be a worthy addition to your list.

And McClellan and Michael Watson and Steve Collins and Chris Eubank. Although...I believe Benn did quit in his last fight with Collins but I mean come on from what I heard he had a cracked ankle? Which is...painful!

Why would Cotto quit on a fight he was handedly winning?

Larry Holmes. His fight with Mike Tyson as he kept getting back up from knockdowns in the 4th round and wouldn't surrender. Tyson had to knock him clean out. He could have been killed. In fact, I read that there were some at ringside who thought he had.

Agree with your names. The Eubank v Benn fights were monumental, Eubank couldnt talk at the end of one of the bouts as he had bitten through his tounge. I was recently lucky enough to meet and chat with Benn, he said hitting Eubank was like hitting a brick wall.
Steve Collins just a naturally hard man with built in unrelenting determination, a devastating combination for any opponent to walk into.

Cause Margarito was coming on strong. It looked a lot like the first fight in that regard.
Sure his face wasnt messed up this time due to no bricks and he benefited from the damage that Pac had done but you did get the sense he would be in trouble in the end the way Margarito was walking him down.
I only seen it live back then but I recall that feeling of oh **** its happening again, hopefully Cotto doesnt take a knee again.

Yup it was playing out the same way.as last time. Cotto was targeting that busted eye like a real fearless warrior.

I have my doubts that Margarito even had loaded gloves in the first fight.

And I was actually ringside for Margarito v Mosely

Yeah, reason why I think he had loaded gloves though is cause of two reasons. One is how Cotto's face looked. He was covered in blood and we had the torn wrap post fight.
Also why would Margarito start with mosley? It makes more sense if he had been doing it since the Cintron fight.

On the other hand he was coming on strong and Cotto was fading and if my memory is correct he was wearing pillows in the rematch so who knows?

Hell of a fight to be ringside for by the way :)

I agree that if he loaded for Mosely why wouldn't he load for Cotto, it was the bigger fight....
But that's just another athletic commission to get by, at MSG no less.
And Cotto busted up rather easily in the Pac fight also, but yeah it did seem like a bit much.

Crazy thing about the Mosely fight, no one in attendance knew anything while the fight was going on. On the broadcast, Jim Lampley broke the news before the fight, but for those of us in attendance we didn't hear any of that. I found out like an hour after the fight when I was driving home
