It was cool. I just don't care for the come forward, no defense, throw non stop punches style. I can watch two homeless guys at the bus stop fight like that .

Can’t speak to his later career, but prime Mayorga. Oscar and Tito would’ve killed him without a ref, as Mayorga would’ve kept getting up and coming back for more hoping to lane that one punch. One tough SOB.

I take it you must not like fighters such as Henry Armstrong, Joe Frazier, Jeff Fenech, Aaron Pryor, Roman Gonzalez? Those guys constantly came forward throwing lots of punches and weren't known for defense.

To be honest none of them are on my list of favorite fighters, but I certainly wouldn't include Ruslan Provodnikov in any conversation with those fighters.

Can't really speak for Armstrong, I haven't really seen much film of him, only heard descriptions

I was lucky enough to see Mayorga fight at the MGM. He was well past his best days, it was against Miguel Cotto, but he still put on a hell of a show and had the crowd jumping with his antics!

I get what you're saying, was just wondering. It's all personal preference when it comes to certain styles in boxing. I'm usually open minded and appreciate all styles of boxing, even the crude wild sluggers or very negative, spoiler types.

Yeah I like the more technical guys . About the closest thing to a "slugger" I enjoy would be Tyson, but I don't really consider him a slugger, he always seemed very methodical to me .

Ironically, my favorite fighter is Ricardo Mayorga, a real man's slugger....but his antics go a long way

Honestly, and I am nowhere near a fan of his but Wilder. Whoever other than Fury beats him is gonna really have to plant him into the ground because he's not gonna stop trying to hail mary them unless they detach him from his senses.

Watch the tape of the fight , bell rings to end round Cotto was exhausted slunk back to his corner Margarito stood & stared at him beating his chest. Only then did that NY doc stop the fight. Tony had not been able to see out of that eye since round 2 & the doc knew it. Why didn't he stop the fight sooner , he didn't care about Tony's eye. It was going to be a repeat of fight 1 Cotto was done & ready to quit on his knees AGAIN!!!!. That fight was stopped to save Cotto the embarrassment of QUITTING AGAIN!!! NOT to save Tony's eye
