    No ****, and? Still, at the end of the day, if Zhang hadn't have busted his nose and eye, the outcome may have been different tonight. That's boxing for you. Look at Guido Vianello and Johnathan Rice early this year. Rice lost every second of every round, finally landed ONE punch, and that cut Vianello's eye, which immediately led to a TKO stoppage for Rice, who was on his way to losing a lopsided decision.

    I believe Joyce saw his performance against Hrgovic and was not impressed. Figured he was much better than Hrgovic and therefore would have an easier time with Zhang.....but styles......make.....the ....fights.

    This is different. Yes I commend Big Joe for taking on all these tough challenges but he's 37 y/o and one fight away from becoming full champ which is his dream and the objective and he might well have been elevated to full champ in a couple of months without even having to fight.

    Yep, same thing happens with me frequently, depending on how much I detest a fighter, so don't come at me with that line anymore.

    Exactly this^

    Eye damage, not chin damage. And by no means heart damage.

    But Kudos to Zhang for landing good shots that caused it. It's the fight game. Zhang was always gonna be seriously dangerous early on.


    Joyce will be back for sure. He won't shrink into his shell with the loss like some other top 5 fighters have done.

    You thought right.

    He won one fairly clear and another by a fanny-hair.

    But he was not winning at the time of stoppage.

    Yes. Joyce landed nothing of significance the entire fight. Just a bunch of pitty patty punches which added volume but did absolutely nothing to Zhang.

    I was very surprised by how well Zhang parried which seems like a lost art. His gas tank may not be great, but he had good energy control and he landed whenever he wanted. He is not just a knockout artist, the dude is a really big, very competent boxer.
