One has to give Zhang a chance against anyone with that power - there's no way Joshua could take more than a couple of what Joyce took tonight.

His speed is deceptive for such a big guy and it is such a fluid shot. I think Fury would be too canny, but would be interesting early as Zhang can box, and we saw Fury have problems with Wallin.

Usyk, I think would be too elusive, but at 36 and starting to fade to Father Time, Usyk would have to be extra elusive.

Wilder v Zhang would be a doozy too just to see how hit first lol

Interesting to see if any of those guys give Zhang a chance.

Yeah, because you're a terrified player, who's cautious as all hell, and I'm not. Joyce will bounce back, no big deal, and certainly no hypejob derailing.

i mentioned a couple of times how great his timing is. that takes knowledge of the mechanics of boxing, which he seems well trained in.

Well in your world he can be, but in mine based off of what I saw tonite, he's far from it.

that would be bad for his team he was outfought all fight and it took a ref to save him from going down in the second. they will stay far away from Zhang.

I am just stating that Zhang deservedly won and you saying it would be different if he wasn`t cut and Joyce would have taken over in the later rounds is irrelevant. He lost fair and square

You know how commentators are, David.

    There's bad commentators and there's....

You will say he's elite once you see him kicking hrgovic's ass. Losing to zhang doesnt make him "non-elite". He is. He has problems with long reach southpaws who hit like a mule, that's all. hrgovic has those problems too, but he robbed the fight to fix them.

Joyce is a ridiculously good fighter, and zhang has been ridiculously understimated for god knows the reason.

If Zhang were to land a clean left, it would probably persuade Usyk to avoid that punch from then on.

Hopefully he can get his rematch in and have an opportunity to get back to mandatory before the belts splinter. If he loses twice to Zhang then there won't be anything to complain about.

I'm think the AJ Ruiz 2 on his bike for the first 6 rounds approach is the way to go. The problem is a tiger can't change their stripes at 37, I don’t think Joyce has ever had to fight that way before.

Objectivity, caution and remaining poised wins those kind of things. Being reckless and emotional doesn't. We'll see. But rebuilding at 38 isn't easy. Doesn't look very good for him with a loss like this at his ripe age. Even if he's able to get one back on Zhang he'll probably be in his early 40s if/when he gets at the belts.

It's more likely that it has increased his chance for a title shot.
