Joe Joyce, Overrated?

Styles make fights.

Joyce looked bad because his main weapon is the jab, and Zhang's southpaw stance takes that away.

Hrgovic didn't look quite as bad because he has no style to speak of, and thus, nothing to take away.

 

Never understood the hype about Joyce. A lot of people were talking like Joyce is 23 years old and will be dominating the division for years. But in the end it turns out it was the Brit hype. He is 35ish and I think if he became professional earlier, he could've achieved more.

 

The worst fight of his life? The only fight he's ever had you mean. All his other opponents have been Eastern European cab drivers.

At least Joyce is in there fighting the big names. Zhang gave Hrgovic such a fright he's gone into hiding for the last year.

 

Joyce loss was a doctor's stoppage, if not that eye , he would of prevail in the second part of the fight.

 

Go and do Joyces damage control, all that hype was for nothing.

 

Never called Zhang B class, he was just unproven as a pro. Yes I'm a Joyce fan but never believed he would beat the likes of Usyk or Fury and even AJ and Wilder would be hard for him to win. Unlike you I have some perspective.

Joyce's life was in danger lol. Come on that's a stretch, all your attempts to twist everything to make Hrgovic good is pathetic, we get it your a massive Hrgovic fanboy, you have a poster of him in your room and touch yourself at night thinking of him. Personally I prefer women, lol.

Hrgovic isn't going for the Zhang rematch and I don't think he should unless the Usyk fight doesn't materialise I've said that to you not so long ago.

Fact is both of them were hyped and Zhang made them both look bad. But because Hrgovic is your masturbation fantasy you feel the need to spin his performance as some tremendous effort that should now be viewed as something it's not because Zhang now beat Joyce.

 

The irony of you accusing someone of damage control when this whole thread is about damage control for Hrgovic after Zhang made him look very beatable.

Because in the past 2 years he's had stoppage wins over Dubois, Takam, Hammer and Parker. He has a good resume and never looked like losing a fight until now.

 

It was the worst because his father died, he wasnt there mentaly but he still took 10+ straight lefts from Zhang and endured it, and destroyed him in latter half of the match. For his record history - you can add the whole top 10+ fighters - Joyce, Parker, Martin, Ortiz, Ruiz, Bakole, Sanchez, Hunter who straight up ducked him, to his record - and now we know why Joyce ducked Hrgovic aswell. The only one who didnt duck him was Zhang - WHAT A COINCIDENCE?

You mean in hiding calling out Usyk, then Andy Ruiz ducking him for the third time, and than calling out Joshua after his fight with nobody.

 

Joyce and Hrgovic have same style, Joyce said it himself.

 

Everybody is ducking a guy who's only fought a live opponent once (and lost)? Ok.

 

If that was the case I wouldnt be the biggest advocate for Zhang Hrgovic rematch. And lets not forget - I was in the 0.1% of people in this forum that had Zhang against Joyce. That shows how all of you know boxing. In a way, Hrgovic looking beatable might be a good thing.
