That's for sure. Who in the heck is Cecilio Lastra? the guy that Pedroza won the WBA title from? Danny Little Red Lopez was a more proven competitor, Sanchez stopped him twice, once on Feb 2 1980 by TKO 13 to win the WBC title and again to prove their first fight was not just a fluke, June 21 1980, TKO 14. Sanchez was cool calm and collected in the ring, he did not need dirty tactics, backhands when the ref was not looking to gain an edge, a mark of a great champion in my opinion. Could have Pedroza defeated Wilfredo Gomez, Danny Little Red Lopez, or Azumah Nelson?

Come on now…he had like 3 lead roles and all were succeses.
Weather or not he was gonna become a major succes it s clear his short body of work was good.
Sure he didnt win the Oscar,Globe of BAFTA but got nominations for all 3.

Let's do it for Johnny, as Matt Dillon would later say in The Outsiders. Ha Ha.

Sal proved he was the goods time after time. Dean could've easily been trash the rest of his career. His films are highly favored for odd reasons imo.

There might be some of that...but I was there during Sanchez's heyday and he was astonishing everyone with his way-beyond-his-years poise. This goes all the way back to the Lopez fight. His death was a HUGE deal back in the day, for good reason imo.

Giant had a great cast and was a pretty ambitious story to tell, but I swear it’s like they filmed half of it with a still camera set up a mile away from what they were shooting. Hard to watch.

3 good filme out of 3 is not the same level as Sancjez offcourse but it shows SOMETHING.
He could have been trash the rest of his career the same manner Sa chez could have been knocked out by Laporte in the rematch.
    We dont know.

No way Laporte knocks Sanchez out. If a 88 percent hitter like Gomez and a 80 percent hitter like Lopez didnt do it, there is no way a 53 percent hitter like Laporte does it.
